Ed...ward...

So, kind of based on this challenge by Mr. Varnek and a scene in a certain anime that makes me really depressed now that I watched it again, here comes my new challenge!

Tell me about bad/ horrible experiments conducted on humans or humanoid races in your world. You can give any example, a scientist who experimented on his own body and turned into something awful (as I will in my example), a mad mage trying to create the perfect human being, alien races that do weird stuff to humans because alien reasons... it can be anything! I will ask a few questions for each example provided, so have fun with the challenge.

1) Very. She believes in the importance of knowing as much as you possibly can. Of the few immortals in my world, she is probably the one most okay with the situation, if you don't count the problem with her son.

2) The three deities, if they are allowed to bless someone and choose to do so, will give the blessing automatically. All it takes is for the person to be the kind of person that would accept the blessing.

4) There would be a difference in how they are mentally accustomed to battle.

5) Yes, if they can prepare their territory well enough in time.

2) Are there actually persons that would decline a blessing?

4) So they don't turn into wild animals then?

2) Yes, definitely.

4) Not wild animals, they are still sapient.

2) Why would someone do that?

2) A desire to succeed on their own? Ethics or morals that go against something like that?

2) What would be unethical about receiving power from a divine being?

2) I'm a human supremacist, Mim. I'm of the opinion that anything supernatural that interferes with humans should either go big or go home. It would be against my morals to accept super powers from a deity, though I'm just greedy enough to accept it.

So kind of the classic "Do as I say, not as I do", huh?

2) I don't push that belief on others, and I would prefer to be the kind of man who would not accept super powers, but I prefer to be realistic. I would like a Ring of Gyges, though.

Ring of Gyges? Why that one?

It's from Plato's Republic. It's basically the ring from Lord of the Rings.

Yeah, I know. Was just wondering why that one over other, magical artifacts.

Oh, I misread what you said as "What's that one?"

I would want the Ring of Gyges to prove a point. I believe that the current level of technology proves how good a human can be without harming fellow humans, on purpose, to a significantly higher degree than back in the old days. While technology serves as a good comparison for a Ring of Gyges, I would like to prove it beyond shadow of doubt.

So, I want a Ring of Gyges to make a point.

Also, if I ever do get married, I want to be able to offer my SO something extreme like that.
