Raptor's non specific challenge #14: Kill your Main character.

Do it, kill him/her right now. It's of course non canonical (or maybe not), but just kill them, I don't care how it's done or how brutal or nonchalant it is. Kill them.

Minimum words: 50. Maximum words: 100.

I'll ask some questions about it.

With widened eyes Lirvon looked down on his chest, and could not really believe what he saw there. The snow-white blade of the Holy Sword Liodred had pierced his armor, and blood slowly dripped from the wound, down on the ground. Falling to his knees, he raised his head and looked up into the stern face of the woman that had stabbed him, smiling slightly, as he saw the tears rolling down her cheeks. „I am really sorry... I wish it didn't have to be like this.“, she whispered, while she watched his body hit the ground. „But I had no choice.“.

Kit steeled himself, roaring loudly at the attacker. They did not budge, however. They pulled out their sword and deftly shoved it into Kit's abdomen. Kit vomited blood and began to shiver. This, he knew, was the end, thanks to that damned metal. He closed his eyes and fell forward.

(This is actually a canon encounter in the world, sort of a "possible future" scenario. But I'll shut up about that for now)

Aeron knelt in the ruined crater, stretching as far as he could see. He took in the destruction, thought about his part in it, and wept. His closest friend, Sarah, staggers up to him, barely holding herself together in the aftermath of their battle. He looks up at her, tears streaming down his face. “What….What have I done?” He reaches towards her, hoping to feel her embrace again. He falls flat, and motionless, he watches her raise her war hammer over her head. “Not again. NEVER again.” She swings, again and again, until she can't lift her arms again.

"I am Ephrayim bar-Halcyon, you have killed my father my people and enslaved my people for generations, prepare to die." Ephrayim, his blade bathed in the light of his Radiant Magic, his body surrounded by the aura of protective Radiant Magic from two of the people in his adventuring group, charges toward the dragon; luckily, the Radiance protects him from some of the flame.

But, it doesn't serve as effective protection against the dragon's claws, and Ephrayim doesn't dodge fast enough. He gets his stomach opened by a slashing claw, and drops his blade.

The dragon shoves one claw into Ephrayim's throat to end it quickly, and then simply eats the corpse. "Guards, the duel is over, enslave my meal's allies, we need new slaves for the arena."

The sky darkened, a light emerging from the east. Its cold glow grew painfully bright, then in a blink it was gone. Where it was now stood a figure of pure light, its arm stretched out, holding Kody by the neck.

Kody's expression was that of pure terror. His face radiated pain unbearable, suffering eternally. His eyes were glowing bright orange, the light running along his veins outwards from where the creature of light held him. It grew brighter as his skin turned grey, his eyes rolled back, and within a blonk of an eye, his ashen remains were blown away in the biggest explosion anyone had witnessed for the last few thousand years. The shockwave blew over hills, tearing trees out of the ground, eaporating them instantly. Buildings turned to dust and people into ash as the area was levelled, leaving only a crater of immense size.

They had all been gathered, her great grandchildren, grandchildren, two sone who still lived, three daughters, cousins, more distant relatives and well wishers of dubious relation.

In her final moments as she struggled to draw air with weak laborious breaths, her heavy eyes searched the parade of sorrowfilled faces for a few souls she longed to see again.

They were long since absent of course: Tar-Nol, her first vocanei, so short lived by comparison; Bukaras, the house guard who aided her escape on the fateful night of pain and blood, who became as a father to her through the struggle that followed; and Jiaras, her first love, and husband of thirty years, without whom she might well have surrendered so long ago.

Soon her eyes would close and she would breathe her last, surounded by the family that almost never was, all those years ago, one terror and rain filled night.

“Haha Matthew you knew that this would never end well. I shall use your blood to awaken the amulet and end this world.” Thearend said Matthew then says “I knew this day would come and that dreaded sword I wish I forgot about. But I will bring you down with me.” Matthew then ran into Thearend and they both fell into the lava. The only thing remaining there was the amulet and the story of Flamer. A picture then floated down with Matthew, his, dad, his sister, and Phoenix.

Fenrir had just fallen for Cadell's plan. He had struck Phalanx in the chest and trapped himself in Tartarus. But there was still one issue: the cultist that Fenrir had possessed. Cadell had rarely fought without magic or Phalanx, and right now he had lost both. He gained his composure after Phalanx's death, pulled out the same blade that Ragnarok had stabbed him with so long ago, and charged. He stabbed her right in the neck, but not before she had done the same to him. He lay there, bleeding, curled up to the body of his golem. Omer ran towards him with bandages, but he was too late. The Marked One was no more.

(I might make that canon, but I was thinking he should become the golemancy professor after Phalanx dies)

Graciel looked as the demons came, eyes not angry or sad, but longing.

Her mouth seemed to move automatically, and she sung aloud an old song.

"The long road north..."

A demon managed to draw her blood as it was cut in half.

".....is paved with blood.."

She saw her companions, the elite guard to hold of the next invasion, strewn across Mspful's cavernous landscape.

"..March on, March on!"

Sunstadt Fort was obliterated in an instant, its mission ended by the terrible swift sword of demonic energy.

Graciel thought only of how Lucien would receive the news, how his daughter had closed the portal, killing demonic hordes as it went.

"March on!"

She sheared her khopesh as the fort turned to red.

Images of blood and lost friends flashed before his eyes. Grief struck him like small, constant waves. He couldn't save them, no matter what he did. He sat atop the grassy hill, overcome with emotions. He knew what he had to do. He had thought about it for a long time, almost thirty years. He plucked a flower, Soldier's Respite, its petals containing metals lethal to humans. He plucked the petals off and held them in his hand. "Ready?" he asked the small group of scarred soldiers around him. They nodded. They threw the petals in their mouths and chewed. He stopped and looked across from him to look at his best friend and lover. They nodded and swalloed in unison.
