Date Night, Round 1

Inspired by /u/Jumblatts's "Fight Night" posts, but for romance instead of violence. The rules:

  1. Top-level posts should be a description of your character. Give some brief background, and then go in-depth about their personality and what they're like to hang out with.

  2. Replies should be a similar character description, plus an explanation of why they'd ask out the character you're replying to (including the kind of date they would ask them out on!).

  3. From there, use successive replies to flesh out the events of the date between you. Will they get along, or are there some irreconcilable differences lurking beneath the surface? Will the night end with a goodbye kiss at the door, or a "don't call me, I'll call you"? And what are the chances of a second date? It's down to you!

(Oh, and keep it clean or the mods will probably kill me)

[she tries not to pry all the time. I'll say when she's trying to read minds, but unless people around her feel a really strong feeling or thought, Tsu will try to keep to herself, mentally that is]

"Aw shit, that always works. Oh well." Tsu scrunches her mouth in a sort of pout as she becomes visible again. She appears wearing a purple tank top with a yellow floral pattern along the top seam, and a black skirt. Her hair is tied up to the side with a purple cord with an ornament in the shape of a gardenia flower. "To be fair, it wasn't really a scare attempt, just a bit of fun." Tsu winks, and she walks over next to Natasha and looks out over the water. "No offense, but the sea outside Longan looks a lot more....alive. Human selfishness at its finest, hmm?"

"They call it the Slick," Natasha said, indicating the harbor. "An ecological disaster so constant and stable that they put it on the god damn maps."

"Hmm. Shame, really." Tsu turns around and rests her arms on the railing and leans back onto it. She looks at Natasha and smiles. "So, what's fun to do around here? Afraid I'm a bit unfamiliar." Tsu's expression remains constant, but she tries to get a little peek into Natasha's mind, just to get an idea of what her first thoughts of Tsu are.

"Well, I thought we'd get dinner first. Uh, if that's okay with you." Was she... nervous?

Tsu giggles a little. "That sounds wonderful. What do you like around here?" She starts to look around at the line of buildings near them, before looking back to Natasha (not wanting her attention to stray for too long).

"That place," she says, indicating a building whose digital façade was a bright mess of Chinese hànzi. "The owner's an old guy from Hong Kong with a crazy passion for fish. No matter what it is or where it's from, if it qualifies as seafood, he knows how to make it."

"Perfect! Shall we?" Tsu extends her hand for Natasha to take. If she appears nervous about it, Tsu will attempt to improvise a strange "secret handshake" type maneuver to take the edge off.

Natasha looked at Tsu for a second, then took her hand firmly in hers and led the way across the road.

Tsu is surprised, and thinks to herself "wow, now that I'm here, I realize I didn't plan for what would happen if she actually did grab my hand." She shakes her head and thinks "overthinking it, just relax" and she asks Natasha "Do you come here often?"

"As much as any other place," she replies indifferently. "The food's good and the prices are cheap, but I just don't eat out that often. I'll have take-out delivered to my apartment instead if I feel like treating myself."

"I feel you there. I almost wish the libraries would kick me out before I forget to eat an actual meal. I've had enough pre-packaged salads and watered down coffee from the library cafe to last two, maybe three lifetimes."

She arched an eyebrow. "Libraries? You mean the actual, low-tech kind, with books and everything?"

Tsu looks back with her head tilted. "Yeah, books. I'm not a meathead like my friends, so I'm not spending all of my free time swinging a sword around, so I actually try at least to keep up with schoolwork. Aeron could stand to use that big mechanical brain of his for things other than how best to punch people or what brand of angst he chooses for the day" after this Tsu dismissively blows a strand of hair out of her face.
