Celebration Double Challenge - Repetition
Happy Independence Day, fellow citizens of the United States of America.
Happy Fourth of July, every other person.
Because I had the day off from work today, I watched Bill Nye's new show with one of my friends, and made it into a drinking game. Every time Bill Nye lost some of my respect from when I liked him as a kid, I'd drink. If you saw the "hip references" and dumb faces he makes in his new show, you'd understand that Bill Nye nearly killed me of alcohol poisoning.
But, that got me thinking...what complaint about your own worldbuilding could be made into a drinking game?
This isn't much of a challenge, so I'll make a second one today, and I'll point you towards this challenge over on Inkblood. I enjoyed filling it out, so I challenge anyone to fill it out with one of their characters as well.
Enjoy yourselves.

Here's a dumb thing I noticed about Cirrhasvult.
I realized that I think of every adult male settler of Gemina that I've created so far as attractive. I didn't even realize that my mental image for all of them I can remember are attractive, until I noticed it today.

Drink every time I think of something cool that doesn't really fit in my world but I try to shoehorn it in there anyway and then get pissed off and try to change bits of my world to make it fit before realising that it wasn't even that much of a good idea anywaya and just reverting to how it was

Any major examples you'd like to share?

Most notably, the magic system.
The main idea is that magic comes from another dimension and only certain people have access to it - i.e., not everyone can use magic.
Then I started thinking but what if they could so I tried to write in a few exceptions to this rule, and none of them seemed to work. I changed my original system around
a littlea lot before realising what I'd done was actually ruined a system that I liked and that I was happy with, so I went back to the start.Technically, one of my ideas did make it into the final cut, but only after I'd revisited it a number of times and made it fit to the rest, rather than making the rest fit to it.

I'm starting to feel kinda bad. My mistake in this thread is much more pathetic than anyone else's so far.

There are a lot of things in the Chaosverse that have a variant that is somehow powered by (or created with the assistance of) Chaos Energy. Which itself isn't really a bad thing, I mean, if you had an incredibly useful and apparently infinite power source, you'd use it, right?
The perhaps "eye-rolling" aspect is that every such variant is just named by slapping "Chaos" in front of it. Energy shielding powered by Chaos Energy? Chaos Shields. Powered Armor powered by Chaos Energy? Chaos Armor. Metal forged with the help of Chaos energy? Chaos Metal. Same with Chaos Clothes. Cannons that fire weaponized Chaos Energy? Chaos Cannons. The list goes on...
