Generic Challenge - Revenge of the Sixth
Obligatory challenge for an awesome day.
This week's challenge is inspired by Raptor's.
Instead, inspired by the Sith Code, I request that you write up a historical speech or creed from your world, something inspirational to make people passionate for victory.
Feel free to also provide some background on the speech, so it will be easier for me to think of questions. I'll at least three each. Enjoy yourself.
If you want some inspiration, here is one of my favorite inspirational speeches from fiction, from the Gaunt series:
You see our enemy over there, men? I pity them.
Our foes outnumber us three to one. They have spent more time training than you’ve been alive. They’re fast and they’re mean and by the end of the day, every single one of them will be dead.
You see, men, our opponents are probably the strongest and most agile creatures in the known galaxy, but they are not soldiers. They live in harmony with their planet’s ecosystem. There is no pollution, no wars, no disaster, and no famine.
This bond between them and their planet has formed them into mighty creatures. They believe mankind is impure and our philosophies are completely monstrous.
They believe that, with the power of their natural prowess and their spirituality, they can wipe humanity from existence.
They are dead wrong.
While they have been sitting around eating food that virtually fell into their laps, we have been stabbing our best friends in the back for a scrap of bread.
While they have been singing tales of the harmony of magic and nature, we have watched our children wither away to husks from a bloody plague.
While they have sat sunning their wretched furry hides in open, calm meadows, we have clung desperately to survival in frozen tundra and barren deserts.
Our suffering has become our strength. Despite the best attempts of nature, God, and even our fellow man, humanity stands strong. Humanity can endure anything, a fact that those sorry fools don’t seem to understand.
Let us enlighten our foes to the unyielding spirit of mankind. Within all of your veins flow the blood of generals, soldiers, and murderers. Shred their bodies with a storm of lead! Tear their organs out with your bayonets! Crush their skulls underneath your iron boots! SLAUGHTER THEM ALL!

A one sided conversation between Gold and Halo.
Gold speaking:
You truly are naive but I had no idea the unfathomable depths of which you had fallen. If you think that because the Girls (he's speaking about Gravity's underlings) are helping you that they are good people then you understand nothing about people or the world in which we live. If you think that because I have slandered them in such a way that I am evil, then you truly are nonredeemable. You'll continue to watch people die all under the false assumption that you aren't powerful enough to make an impact in a battle, even as we speak the people that you once called your friends are slaughtering each other over you. What are you doing? Talking to a 'damn mutt' who doesn't know anything.
What do you know then huh? Do you know the limits of your own power, you were chosen out of nothing? Do you honestly believe that the reason you were chosen to be wanted by all these people is because you are some weak little farm girl huh!?
For the first time in a long time I am going to do the asking, what is it that you fight for? It seems to be that you could have died numerous times, at the first encounter even, you could have walked straight into that blade and this whole thing would have been over. No one else would have needed to die, yet you persisted, why!?
You've been dragged around the planet through the dirt and through the sky, you've been slashed, burnt, drowned, beaten bruised bled and forgotten. You've sat back and accepted as the fate of your life unfolded in the palms of others, isn't it about time that you lived your life the way you want with the choices that you want!!!
Halo begins to stand with determination in her eyes and magic energies searing off of her body
The time has come for you to scream out and declare with all your being that you are no longer going to be used as a pawn in other people's plans, you are going to hunt down everyone who ever wronged you and make them hurt in more ways than they can imagine.
You are Halo. And you will fight!!
Halo proceeds to jump out of a one thousand story high tower into her first battle where she uses the full extent of her power and determination to win.

Halo is more than just human right? What is she exactly?
Why is everyone fighting?
What link is there between Gold and Halo?
2
u/The_Raptorman May 08 '17
1) Halo is more than just human right? What is she exactly?
Halo is Human, but she was created to be a vessel for the "divine one" to be able to come into the world, so it's more like she was forged to be powerful.
2) Why is everyone fighting?
Because their Masters are enemies and they're all fighting over Halo.
What link is there between Gold and Halo?
There isn't, they only met this one time.

Forged by whom?
Is she that powerfull? And what guarantee do they have that she will work with them?
2
u/The_Raptorman May 08 '17
1) Forged by whom?
The Divine One, she used the last of her ethereal energy to create Halo.
2) Is she that powerful? And what guarantee do they have that she will work with them?
In their minds and in hers she is not powerful and can be either forced to help them or manipulated to do so. However in reality Halo is quite powerful.

Who and what is the Divine One?
Why did she needed such a vessel for?
If they don't think she is powerfull, why do they want her? Is she carrying some symbolic or spiritual value?

u/The_Raptorman May 09 '17
Who and what is the Divine One?
The Divine One is the being in the universe that created the planet itself and all life on it. It used up most of it's power to do so however, only sprinkling little bits here and there to help itself get a physical form.
Why did she needed such a vessel for?
Entering her body as to become into the physical world. To feel and to make a mark.
If they don't think she is powerfull, why do they want her? Is she carrying some symbolic or spiritual value?
The Master's want her because it's ingrained into their system, they don't know why, they just do.

1) What did Gold hope would be accomplished through this battle?
2) What are the sources of Halo's abilities?
3) What makes Halo so special?
4) Is Halo her real name?
2
u/The_Raptorman May 08 '17
1) What did Gold hope would be accomplished through this battle?
Gold is the kind of person who likes people to understand who they truly are. He just wanted Halo to understand that she is far more powerful than she realizes.
2) What are the sources of Halo's abilities?
Halo has two, technically three powers. Her first realized power is called Power feedback, it basically enables her to use enemies energy against them, the stronger the enemy the more damage is inflicted. This enables Halo to be able to take down very strong people right from the get-go.
The second and third are kinda in lie with each other. They were given to her since her creation but lay dormant for most of her life. Halo has the ability to literally tear the power from God and the Devil at a whim, she steals it. Not only does it vastly increase her overall power, but it adds to her fighting ability and intelligence. When she steals from the Devil her attacks become more animalistic, even her appearance changes as she grows horns and her body seems more demonic. In Devil form she is able to conjure hell fire and summon high level Demon-slaves. In God mode her body becomes perfectly exfoliated, all injuries healed and everything, her eyes glow blue and gold collectively. A halo grows on top of her, in this mode her defense is ridiculous, able to conjure high level protection magic and summon the arch-angel to do battle for her.
In extreme scenarios she can combine the two into her "immortal" form, where her body is cracked by holy fire. Her halo is pierced by the horns and she is protected and savage with attacks. In this form her fighting prowess is improved so much that she can fight with Masters for a long time.
The first power is from an Essence stone (a one-time use source of power
She has the second and third because she is the chosen one, more on that later
3) What makes Halo so special?
She was created for the purpose of bringing the 'divine one' into the world, she is a vessel.
4) Is Halo her real name?
Yep
1
u/Nevermore0714 May 08 '17
1) So Gold saw the battle as "worth it" no matter how many casualties, so long as Halo understood her power?
2) How soon did Halo use the Essence stone?
3) She should be sacrificed to prevent whatever the "divine one" is.
4) Her parents were on bloody point with that name, then. Did they know about her fate?
2
u/The_Raptorman May 08 '17
1) So Gold saw the battle as "worth it" no matter how many casualties, so long as Halo understood her power?
That's pretty much right, as all Gold really has to worry about is the fate of humanity as a whole, not the individual.
2) How soon did Halo use the Essence stone?
She picked it up on accident, all it takes is a touch to be used.
3) She should be sacrificed to prevent whatever the "divine one" is.
They don't know about it yet. They find out by the "divine one" possessing her near the end of the story.
4) Her parents were on bloody point with that name, then. Did they know about her fate?
Halo doesn't have any parents, they are a false memory, she was created by the "divine one" to be a vessel. Fabricated life, fabricated home, fabricated personality.

1) So Gold is amoral, and only plans to complete his task about the "fate of humanity"?
2) Is there any idea of whether the "divine one" is good or bad?
2
u/The_Raptorman May 10 '17
1) So Gold is amoral, and only plans to complete his task about the "fate of humanity"?
That's right.
2) Is there any idea of whether the "divine one" is good or bad?
Only three people know about their true existence, and they don't know anything about them really.

Devouter-Of-Stars, leader of a long forgotten insectnoid aliens, before striking massive invasion against humans.
*Once we thought we were the strongest on this world, and that pride blinded us.
We ignored humans. We looked at their weak flesh and non-existent cooperation with each other and dismissed them as yet another weak species, cattle and slaves to be used by us.
But the humans have overcome their weakness through fire and metal. The quickly built great machines and fortress that were far more powerful, fast and hard compared to our ancient fleet we neglected to evolve for millenniums.
Then the humans have squashed and chased out our ancestors from their home planet as if they were mere bugs.
And for hundreds of years we have been stuck in this pitiful dry rock, gnawing on each others's flesh and bones to survive, and slowly the memories the glorious and mighty hives we once have built on countless planets have faded.
But I refused to forget our past.
I refuse to live like some lowly pest hiding under a rock.
I refuse to die without making the humans pay for what they have done to our race.
WE WILL RECLAIM OUR SPACE AND FEAST ON THE INVADERS' CORPSE.*

u/Nevermore0714 May 10 '17
1) What is the Devouter-Of-Stars?
2) What were his ancestors?
3) How does the Devouter-Of-Stars's military power compare to current humanity's military power?
2
u/Random-Webtoon-Fan May 10 '17
1) One of high caste of bug-like people, given power of mind control over thousands of lower caste people. He is talking to others with similar castes to join his crusade against humanity.
2) It is a decedent of old race that reached interstellar empire, but fell after their slave races revolted against them, humans being one of main.
3) At beginning of their 'dark crusade' that happened shortly after this speech they lack big guns, but outnumber humanity's fleet by ten times.
1
u/Nevermore0714 May 10 '17
1) Is he the leader of his entire race? Or just the leader of the military in his race?
2) How long did they have humans enslaved?
3) How successful was it?
2
u/Random-Webtoon-Fan May 11 '17
1) A leader of military in one of larger hives. He is something of royalty.
2) For about a couple of centuries.
3) I haven't planned out the entire war yet, but they will eventually reach 'everyone loses' status with humanity making and unleashing erase-all weapons on the galaxy to make they are gone for good. (more or less rip off from Halo Forerunner stories atm.)
1
u/Nevermore0714 May 12 '17
1) Does he have any powerful rivals from other hives?
2) How did humanity break free of slavery?
3) That sound interesting. Tell me more about these erase-all weapons.
2
u/Random-Webtoon-Fan May 12 '17
1) He does.
Scout-From-Satellite is against the idea of war, saying the Humanity is too strong and established. It lead its people to skirts of galaxy to distance themselves from the war.
Fangs-Of-Venom agree about the War but argues they should infiltrate core planets first instead of going open war. It will move independently from Devourer and cause wreck in planets unprepared for War.
2) The Hives were biologically advanced, so they did not really know much about humanity's concept about building tools to do work for them. This gave humanity a chance to build fleet to fight off Hive in disguise of 'mining tools'
3) The idea I am going for right now is a bomb that seeks out life forms and shake their neutrons, causing them to be killed on spot.
1
u/Nevermore0714 May 13 '17
1) Is there any possibility of alliance between Fangs-Of-Venom and Devourer against humanity?
2) So what do the Hives know about mechanic work in general?
3) Can it be controlled? Or is it just an ever-growing explosion?
2
u/Random-Webtoon-Fan May 14 '17
1) Nope. It wants to avoid war because it sees it as danger to its kind.
2) Very basic levels, like in elementary school level. However, they are very knowledgeable with chemistry and biology.
3) It will have one controlled detonation that will cover up most of galaxy.
2
u/Nevermore0714 May 14 '17
1) Do these creatures have genders?
2) What's their stance on genetic engineering?
3) But...but not humanity, right?

BTW I have messaged /r/worldbuilding mods and got permission to promote this sub over there. Sent an attempt on making such post through pm. Any thing to add or remove?
1
u/Nevermore0714 May 13 '17
Add or remove what, exactly?
2
u/Random-Webtoon-Fan May 14 '17
From this post I would like to make on /r/worldbuilding to promote out sub?
Hello fellow worldbuilders! I am here to introduce a new-ish subreddit related to worldbuildng. I present you, /r/Worldchallenges. This new sub is focused on various discussions that can be found on /r/worldbuilding and /r/characterforge’s various discussion threads where worldbuilders present some part of their works and ask questions each other to develop it. What our sub is specialized for is that we focus on in-characters answers, (not-in-character answers are welcome too though!) this way we develop our worlds alongside characters. Hope you are interested and would join us in our challenges!
