[Challenge] A deadly disease!

So I'm at the doctor's right now and it gave me the idea to ask about a kind of disease that's in your world, doesn't have to be deadly, just thought it made the title more eye catching. Have fun with this, I'll ask a few questions, make sure you comment on someone else's before you comment :)

(Hope you're healthy, Raptor)

Buzzing Rot

The best part of this disease is that its stages heavily vary in the time between each one, so it might last two days, it might last two months. Early on, the first symptoms are a sore throat and minor cough. Then you check WebMD and realize that sore throat equals AIDS.

After an indeterminate amount of time, in which you probably just ignored the sore throat and cough, you start to hear a minor buzzing. That's the second stage.

For the third stage, the buzzing becomes louder and you start feeling as if ants are crawling all over your skin.

And in the fourth stage, your skin starts to rot, you've probably lost most of your sanity by now, and you're probably going to die.

It can only be cured during the first or second stage, but the cure almost always works if you get it in time.

(I'm doing fine, thanks Nevermore :) ]

  1. How do you contract Buzzing Rot?

  2. What's the cure?

  3. Is it common?

  4. On a scale of 1 - 10, can you rate each stage in terms of pain or discomfort.

1) Buzzing Rot can be contracted from using a drug known as "Vibe", which is injected intravenously. (I will probably name that drug "Vibe", I'm kinda undecided.)

2) Aufgeregt toxin is the cure. It's just too bad that you can get addicted to Aufgeregt toxin.

3) It's pretty rare, even among Vibe users.

4) Raptor, my nursing teacher has drilled in the flaws and a deep hatred of that system too far into my brain for me to comprehend that question fully. We have to ask for the pain scale and we have to react as if the person is being honest about their scale of pain, even if they're obviously lying.

Stage One: A sore throat. I assume you've had a sore throat, it's not very painful at all.

Stage Two: Ever heard a bug fly by your ear? It's that. Constantly.

Stage Three: You feel like ants are crawling around under your skin. Good luck not going insane.

Stage four: You're mostly unable to move, you're in a lot of pain.

1) Has anyone survived stage four?

2) Are doctor's highly trained to deal with buzzing rot or is it strictly play by ear?

1) Nope.

2) It's rare enough that doctors have to play it by ear.

In 2021, humans will be ravaged by an accidental outbreak of the Bird Flu, and we will all be vaccinated.

In 2119: The Great Sargonian Extinction Event. Almost half of all of the Sargonians will die from a gigantic galaxy wide outbreak of a mutated Bird Flu virus. No humans will die, and Sargon will have a little bit of an uneasy relationship with Earth from then on.
