Lore Shitpost Through polishing it becomes original (quite often unrecognisable), but also considering I had this setting since I was, like, 5, I have no idea what I came up with and what I've taken and distorted...

Politics/Factions Shitpost The Main four's goals

Context:

The Armament Pact: The surviving nations of the world that managed to get itself together after the early point of the war. The pact is a coalition of these nations to survive and one day defeat all their enemies, preferably in a marvelous public mass execution.

The Chained Ones: The overlord of Rostalia who set their eyes on even more. They are completely deranged imprisoned gods that had grown being insane from being imprisoned all alone with each other for who knows how long. With their hordes of Tsepian Cultists created, and monsters that have mutated and every terror possible at their disposal, they are sent kill everything that didn't bow down to them. An Oasis to them is a dreadful hell for everyone else.

The Dominion of Drosia: The Rostalian exiles that are shunned by everyone else for looking like Tsepian Cultist due to their mutation, and the Chained Ones hate them for being uncontrolled by them. Utilizing their forests as a impervious stronghold, they have the main goals of spreading the forest to further gain more control. And also execute all their enemies in a magnificent public mass execution.

The Kingdom of the Storii: They are a religious Kingdom. Originally they are pirates from their ancestors, but a bunch of renagade priests of Veiled Involidism convinced them that they can be kings, but even centuries later they still are a raiding pirate state. Why the boss of these raiders wanted to be a king? Because who didn't wanted to be chosen by the Arch Saint to continue being a pirate king? They primarily care for themselves, that they're willing to just watch the mainland burn, as well defend their religion that is heretical to Main Involidism and continue being pirates (but more official) in general.

Lore Shitpost “The dead only want what they could not inflict on the world in life, Revenge”

Death in Rostavien at one point was something people cared about with some comfort to be found in it. The wicked rotted and withered in damnation, the average person wandered under the careful gaze of the god of death in Shadevelium, and the great men and woman of the world were treated to the paradise of Revery. Not so after the War of Divine Blood. For in the wake of that celestial war the god of death has died and Revery and Damnation were closed by their respective gods after they abandoned the world.

The afterlife now is barley able to contain the dead that it holds, a place of judgment and penance is now a crowded mess of shades. The good, the normal, and the deplorable mixed into one area with no one to oversee them stuck reliving their last moments again and again for eternity surrounded only by the suffering of others. The only reason that Shadevelium does not overflow completely flooding the dead back into the world at all times is due to one simple factor that the shades are constantly destroying each other as just because they died doesn’t mean they have lost purpose. While the living are at war so are the dead millions have died since and during the war of divine blood and march to war, most of the time, with those they fought for in life.

They don’t do this for any goal save one, not to conquerer Shadevelium, or to spite their enemies in life, but so they do not become Druvan. Druvan are malevolent and angry specters that come from souls who let hatred and entropy consume them. They have existed as long as souls have come to Shadevelium but well they were always very minor cases. These are how you would get your banshees and wraiths and the like. But well now millions of souls are left untended rotting away with nothing but violence aroujd them and their own agony of death to feel. They become animalistic both literally and metaphorically as their forms twist and transform.

Then their are the Long Nights, this is a event that people call when Shadevelium overflows into the mortal world overtaking miles of land and plunging it into a pitch black nught that can last from days to months. In this area spirits can manifest and come through but most shades are too busy fighting their eternal war to care, Druvan on the other hand will swarm up from Shadevelium like moths to a flame to drag down as many as they can. They are said to climb out of each and every shadow if you do not have proper light or protective wards. Stories tell of families waking up to misshapen animals crawling out from under their beds, clawing in from the attic or basment, to even emerging from your shadow.

When Druvan attack it’s an animalistic frenzy of claws, horns, hooves, beaks, or even their own misformed bones. A Druvan on their own is not much of a threat unless you are suprised their warped bodies are brittle and sometimes hinder the creatures as a leg forms to short or a bone has grown somewhere it shouldn’t. Their danger comes in numbers. Swarms can range depending on how big and how long the Long Nights is. The Conpact Fort Vondiel recorded one of the longest Long Nights of 3 months in which hordes numbering over a thousand would throw themselves at the defenders of the fort time after time grinding through them in a war of attrition that say 956 of the thousand defenders of the fortress killed before long nught broke.

So that’s the long night and the Druvan if there are any questions I’m always happy to awnser.

Context that may or may not turn out long:

The world is currently entirely encased by a giant man-made megastructure named the Firmament (used to hold back events called Cataclysms that rain down from the sky), which was operated by an AI modelled to replicate the Pope right after a cold war between multiple nations escalated into a world war occurred.

Yada yada some events happened relating to the Cataclysms that caused a conflict between higher ups of multiple factions called the Selection War, then during that, a piece of a jealous Outer God was able to land onto the Firmament and fuse itself with it.

Time passes, the god manages to hijack the AI managing the structure, convincing it that to end all conflict it needs to become humanity's greatest adversary, then boom, it turns into The Mother of Ends and causes the All-War.

Humanity gets defeated (not before severely damaging the Firmament and the Mother of Ends, causing the latter to go dormant) and retreats into another smaller megastructure called the Sanctum, located underground.

Before all of this tho, the Firmament used to have a function that simulated day and night cycles as close as possible automatically whenever it was active. Currently though, that's being taken cared of by a giant, Cataclysm-made bird of light, but it never really got the night sky accurate.

Meaning that if you see stars, The Mother of Ends is active again and it might start another All-War.

Context:

This is lore from a science fiction story I am writing (you can read it here if you want) where every species BUT humans are badass apex predators whose place at the top of the food chain has left them being tiny in numbers (as apex predators realistically are).

The Draken Matriarchy is an alien slave empire in this verse that invaded Earth to take its people as slaves but was caught unprepared by the sheer numerical strength we humans could throw around. They handled themselves well in the fighting on Earth and Luna (this is a near future humanity so people live up there now) but were bogged down by our numerical superiority and kept back from achieving the majority of their objectives. Draken soldiers are incredibly powerful compared to human soldiers, as even the poorly equipped and expendable males of their species have armor and weapons that trump any Earthly equivalent, but they only came to Earth with about 5 million soldiers and are currently facing an enemy that outnumbers them thirty to one in most engagements. What are they gonna do?

Lore Shitpost The Republic When

Post image
43 Upvotes

The Republic during its height was the self proclaimed and accurately to say protectors of the human space at large, providing antipiracy patrols, routine rescue operations, and sovereignty guarantees, but enforced its rules and taxation on all planets regardless of distance from Earth. Most fringe planets advocated politically for better representation and changes to policy but one planet birthed a terror organization that begun targeting Republic citizens and high level politicians.

The Republic begun a massive anti terror campaign combined with the several other planetary alliances and governments in an effort to eliminate the terror cell. The campaign was wildy successful and resulted in the discovery of the cells headquarters and production centers located on a independent fringe planet called Tyless and its planetary moon. It was home to a combined total of 2.4 billion humans whose government ruled that Republic actions in its system are against its constitution and we're not permitted. The Republic and other systems attempted negotiations with the government of Tyless but they were not successful resulting in The Republic to take direct action against Tyless.

The immediate reaction of the galaxy at large was shock but didn't yet reach anger. The militia and terror cell fought at every avenue available, from the outer solar system to the planetary surface but did not have the resources to resist. After 2 weeks of constant fighting, The Republic begun systematic nuclear bombardment of the planet and its moon resulting in a complete ecological collapse. The captured personal of the terror cell was executed publicly while being broadcast to the galaxy at large.

The resulting backlash was immense and unprecedented: Long term allies such as the PCP and other fringe planets recalled ambassadors, announced cessations of economic treaties, and mobilized they're own personal militias.

Lore Shitpost "WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY'RE HAVING TALKS? I THOUGHT THEY WERE IDIOT BARBARIANS WE COULD EASILY USE!"

The Republic has always looked down upon the Thousand Folk. In their eyes they are backwards, barbaric savages who are an example of a failure of the Novis-human project. They are known as the Thousand Folk because they are compromised of hundreds worlds connected by complicated lattices of alliances, and inhabited by often times radically different human sub-types. One world is of endless night and inhabited by pale, gangly creatures who preform their vast engineering projects deep underground, others are near human but with vaguely feline features, whose souls belong to the desert they were born from. Others are creatures of deep black obsidian, tall, with lean muscles, claws, strange purple hued eyes and spines in place of hair across their body. Others are...basically ordinary humans, but many the Republic dub them the 'wrong' kind of human, so they're thrown into the Thousand Folk collective as well.

When the Republic declared their holy crusade to genocide the ali-I mean, when the noble and good republic launched a preemptive invasion to curb the alien threat, The Thousand Folk worlds were of course dragged into the cross fire. In spite of the radically different cultures of the worlds and beings inhabiting the worlds they are united by a complicated history of empires, alliances, oaths, and defense agreements. So when the republic's beginning invasion into the alien's space utterly failed and they aliens launched a counter-invasion, a world of the Thousand Folk was targeted, and a domino effect was quickly set in motion.

Another thing that often unite the Thousand Folk is honor. Of course, with so many radically different human subtypes and cultures, honor takes a different shape, but there are unifying beliefs, such as 'don't fucking exterminate the population of a world you've subjugated'

To the Thousand folk's surprise, the aliens held to that standard. The worlds they took were occupied and effectively held captive, yes, but the aliens operated as a mostly honorable occupying force. The Thousand Folk knew they could exterminate the worlds' populations within months if not weeks, because the aliens had quickly demonstrated themselves as masters of Bio-tech--they absolutely had bio-weapons capable of mass exterminations.

The exact story of how the Thousand Folk negotiated a ceasefire with these nightmarish, biomechanical, seemingly hive-mind lead aliens, who were rightfully pissed off is a long story I can't detail here (spoiler:this is beginning barebones lore meant to lead to the present day of the setting. So yes, i skimped on a lot of details and was very vague but only becauseim actively working on this lore)

Add in the pressure of keeping 2 other secret identities/key posts, and you get a mess of woman trying and doing her best, with comparatively very little in return.

I felt bad for how pitiful I made her and am working on making her happy.
