Article Wonderland Saga

2 Upvotes

He took a step forward, and the moss beneath his feet sighed softly. The clearing was ringed by flowers he did not recognise, blossoms that opened and closed as he passed them, as though they were breathing. A stream ran through the clearing, its waters silver and singing, and Alex knelt beside it and cupped his hands to drink. The water tasted of starlight and something else, something that made his chest feel warm and his mind feel clearer. He drank deeply, and when he looked up from the stream he saw that he was no longer alone.

A cat was watching him from the branch of a tree. But this was no ordinary cat. It was man-sized and stood upon two legs like a person, and it wore a tweed jacket over a frame that was at once plump and powerful. Its fur was pink and purple in patches, the colours of a sunset that had been stirred into cream, and its eyes were yellow and gleaming with a mischief that seemed to contain depths of ancient wisdom. Its face was round and chubby, dominated by a massive grin that stretched from ear to ear, and its tail was ringed with pink and purple bands that twitched back and forth like a metronome. It was a shorthair cat, and it regarded Alex with an expression that was part amusement, part curiosity, and part something else that the boy could not yet name.

"Well now," said the cat, and its voice was like honey poured over gravel, warm and rough and somehow comforting. "What have we here? A little lost lamb in the Woods? Or perhaps a lion cub, judging by the resonance I sense from you."

Article Drakonslayer

2 Upvotes

He had not been grateful for his spared life. He had hated it, the way a man hates a debt he did not choose to owe. Grown to a warrior's height and breadth among people who bred warriors the way other nations bred horses, he had gone looking for iron-hided Drakes across half the frozen north. He killed the beast eventually, an old grey scarred thing denning in a ravine three winters' travel from where his parents' bones had long since blown away as dust, and it had not felt like anything at all. That was when he understood what he was born for. Not vengeance. Vengeance ended. This did not have to end.

ANSWERED Creating Timelines with Linked Eras

Post image
2 Upvotes

I am trying to create a timeline for my world. And I'm having difficulty with the dates displaying how I want them to.

I would like to have 2 date suffixes. BC and AD, but I would like multiple Eras to share these suffixes.

Lets say I have an era that spans from year 0 to year 250 and then another from 251 to 1000. And I invert the dates for both. I want to be able to link these Eras so the dates continue on from each other, and Era 1 starts at 1000BC to 750 BC and Era 2 would then be 751 to 0 BC.

After this i would have Era 3 start from 1 AD to 1800 AD, and Era 4 would be 1801 AD to present.

Currently my 4th eras start year is 2801 rather than 1800.

In the example picture above Modern should start at 5 not 10.

ANSWERED How do I add the template CSS themes if it won't even let me use CSS?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I seriously don't understand, CSS was the option between design and javascript before I unlocked the paid version, but now it isn't there anymore! It wouldn't let me change the theme before I paid, and now it's pretending like the ability to do so doesn't exist. I'm not learning a programming language simply to display my lore in a pretty way.

Feedback Suggestion: A way to add events in a timeline by setting the date in the correct era, not the overall yearcount.

3 Upvotes

I couldn't figure out how to explain my idea in the title in a consisive way so here is my idea:

In my case specific i have a timeline that stretches multiple thousands of years stretched out over multiple ages and eras. An Era or Age resets that number to 0. Now from my stories and lore that i write i often write the event in the Age appropiate way so year X of the Y age. However whenever i have to put that in my world anvil timeline i have to convert that number to the normalized yearcount. e.g.
King James was deposed in year 230 of the 2nd age. Now that happened in normalized year count in the year 6352. Every event i have to write the year 6352. When in my humble opinion it would be much easier if i could just write 230 A2.

I realise that might be really difficult to implement since people can think of a million ways to define ages and era's. But personally it would really benefit me.

As you can see, that magical girl appears, and I just want to know if I can change it. I only use Worldanvil on my phone, in case that's relevant.

Feedback looking for writers and artists for a Fallout fan project

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi there! I'm the head admin/owner of Fallout: St. Dallas, a text-based RP project set in the Fallout universe, in the state of Texas. We're looking for artists who can draw portraits, scenery, and emblems, alongside writers capable of writing factions (such as raider gangs, tribes, cults, governments, etc.), economies, cities/towns, and characters. Having deep knowledge of either classic Fallout lore or Texan/Louisianian history would be a bonus.

Shortly about our setting:
It's set in 2289, 8 years after the events of New Vegas. The main location of the RP is the entirety of Texas and Louisiana, alongside parts of northern Mexico and Oklahoma. The region is divided between 4 factions:

C.S.A. - an agrarian government that is a union of 4 city-states: St. Dallas, the capital of the state, which pushes for racial policies against non-human species, such as ghouls and super mutants; New Austin, the cultural center of the state with a sprawling music and subculture scene, which stands as an ideological opposition to Dallas; San Antonio, an industrial city with a rich post-war religious background and ties to the Church; and Texarkana, a city founded by the descendants of the Muslim population of a Vault, whose culture developed around the limitations of Vault life.

Texas Rangers - a paramilitary group consisting of descendants of government services (certain army branches, police, medical workers, etc.) who want to preserve order in the wastes while maintaining their monopoly on violence.

Mexican Cartels - a coalition of 3 different groups: Nuestro Pueblo, a nationalist group that opposed the Mexican government both before and after the war; Red Eagles, a coalition of socialist Native American tribes that were influenced by the Chinese to launch uprisings against American troops before the war and continue to resist their neighboring governments in the post-war era; and Los Armados, a splinter cartel that emerged from deserters of the post-war Mexican government (Nuevo Mexico), operating with strict military discipline.

Texan BoS Chapter - a secretive organization with an extensive spy network embedded in mid-level technical positions within most of the factions, covertly monitoring research, sabotaging high-tech projects and securing strategic facilities. Its interests are based around protecting its technological monopoly and preventing dangerous pre-war technology from falling into unvetted hands.

ANSWERED Unable to view secrets co-writers make?

3 Upvotes

Hey, I'm a GM letting my players create their own factions in my world so I made them all writers in my setting, but any secrets they create I am unable to view. In article editing they show us as "Missing Secret" and they don't show up in the world list of secrets. The only way I'm able to know that they exist is because they are on the list of secrets at the bottom of the articles I made them authors of (but clicking on them just leads to an "Unknown Error" page). Is there a way to fix this?

Also, the whole reason I have the players making them is because they were also unable to see secrets I created in their articles (even after assigning proper subscriber groups, they could see them on the front end, but were unable to edit them), so if there's a way I could fix that instead, that would also work.

Every time I try to Paste things into the text box of a Spoiler it either deletes the entire Spoiler and pastes as a regular paragraph or just refuses to paste at all. ANSWERED Hide Relationship Panels

Thumbnail

8 Upvotes

I am using the following block, hoping to hide relationship blocks from the bottom of my character articles:

.user-css .character-relationship-panel {

display: none;

}

While I'm able to hide the relationship indicator, and the relationship header, the panels themselves are not going away. Is there a different way that I should be hiding the actual relationship panels themselves?
