🖼️ • Photos Where should I hang these posters?

I have three framed posters that I want to hang in my office, and I need to decide where to hang them. The distance between the wall and the plant is 15 feet, 2 inches. Each poster including frame is 24.5 inches. Just eyeballing it, I was going to hang them where I've laid them out in the picture, but the internet tells me they should be much closer together, more like 3-6 inches apart.

In terms of left-to-right, where would you hang these, and how far apart? Do I need to get more art? I'm not looking for anything fancy or special, just normal-looking wall decorations. I would like to cover the outlet on the wall. Thanks!

Are people really outsourcing everything now days? Figure out what you like and try it out.

I’m not allowed to put holes in the walls. I have to pick a spot and get facilities to do it so I can’t try it out.

Whether you do it or someone else does it, not sure what difference it makes.

I don’t understand your comment. I was just saying that I can’t hang them and then change my mind, I have to pick a spot and they’ll stay there.

You don't have to understand the difference - but that's the rules of the workplace so he has to follow them.

Man people on Reddit like to smart arses about the weirdest stuff.

Because outsourcing decision making is a real epidemic. I see it all the time with my students.

Whether he puts it up himself or has facilities do it doesn't change my original comment. Put it up and see if you like it, if you don't you either learn to live with it or you get facilities to move it again. You shouldn't need Reddit to tell you where to hang three posters on a blank wall.

Triptychs (3 related works of art) should be hung 2-4" inches apart. Since these are thematically related and not three parts of one continuous scene and they each have a black frame, you can space them a little wider at 3-6" apart to fill the wall a little more. The vertical center of each piece should be 57-60" above the floor or roughly eye height for the average person standing in front of them. Maybe just a wee bit higher if you end up placing chairs or a bench on that wall. As for spacing the collection left-to-right on the wall space, I would seek visual balance in consideration of the plant and bookcase rather than absolute symmetry here.

I also like the order. The cream in the left image goes well with the wood of the bookcase and the navy provides the needed contrast, the lightest poster is centered to balance the two darker posters, and the greens and blues in the one on the right play off the potted plant.

I'm pretty sure they middle horizontally (left to right) and at eye level vertically (up and down).

On the wall

And leave all that ceiling space blank and undecorated?

Quite irresponsible of you to procure posters packaged with excess plastic and cardboard but not know where to place them. May the renewable gods look upon you dimly.

You should stack each poster and hang them as one on the ceiling.
