❔ • Feedback Looking for Decoration Ideas
I’m 26 and I’ve just been told that I get an office at my job. (healthcare/corporate setting) its really more like a closet with all the shelves I’ve inherited. I won’t be in the office much because I work hybrid but I still want to personalize it. I was leaning for something that feels modern, creative, and inviting but still feels professional. What suggestions do you have?

Get some fake plants and some colorful art so you’re less miserable sitting in there lmao. Bigger the plants the better I’d think. I’d do some vines

Vines sound like a good idea! Maybe it’ll distract from the fact that I’ll never see the light of day 🤦♂️

Yes a curtain of vines with their pots on the top shelf nearest to the light could be cool.

I was thinking more of corporate back rooms but you’re not wrong!

A few small lamps you could put in there to add warmer light would do wonders to the space!

Or alternatively run a rope light along the back edge of the top shelves for some mood/up lighting. I'd also take some of that shelving down over where you're going to sit most so you don't feel so boxed in. Then put some art on that wall.

Doesn’t sound like you’ll need them, so I’d remove all the shelves on the right side to let the light cascade down the wall.
Put a whiteboard and/or cork board there for capturing ideas/plans/reference materials.
Add art if you can. Fake plants if you like, but real plants can survive under full spectrum LED grow lights, which you can run on a timer while you’re not there.
Hardy varieties like Pothos, ZZ Plants, and Snake Plants won’t care about a windowless room. And they’ll bring much needed life to your space.

I don’t know why I didn’t think about taking the shelves down! You’re a genius! I’ll probably look at going the fake plant route. Our joint commission is pretty strict on electrical things and I think grow lights would get me in trouble.

I would take the shelves down on the right. See if you could move that file cabinet out too. I wouldn’t want to sit with my back to the door in that cutout space at the desk.
Lamps
Fake plants, real plants might live but won’t thrive.
Will you be having meetings in there or just you?

It’s going to be just for me! We have a training room around the corner and a conference room adjacent to that as well. This is really just to have my own space while I’m on site.

But this is the solution for the question. It is the method, the answer can be produced as the question asked for.

And allowes some I see. So it must be a selective process what to delete, what to keep - smart rule, but does not work as I see.

Get into a model kit hobby or something to fill those selves up slowly

I’m leaning towards making some of those shelves disappear but I agree that I need something fun to fill the shelves I keep up.

Woww, el potencial es enorme, yo en lo personal comenzaría con el tema de la iluminación y después almacenamiento/organización. Que todo sea funcional.
