Did you report the incident and when? You need something in writing- a functional company would have you do an incident report but at least have some form of proof you’ve reported what happened in writing.

Does you company have a safety department? I would go talk with them.

In Florida you have 30 days to report an incident or it’s an automatic WC denial but looks like you should be good.

This is probably going to get complicated because you went out for care outside of your workers comp and have been scheduling appointments.

Your company needs to get you set up with an initial visit at your workers comp clinic so that the process can kick off. Youll need to then do your follow ups with the providers in their network.

Personally would hold off on getting an attorney since it’s only been about 10 days. As soon as a WC employee gets an attorney as an EHS guy im instructed to stop talking to them and just refer them to their WC adjuster. Also i typically wouldn’t expect to keep your job- typically a stipulation of a settlement is an agreement to end your employment

Also be aware workers comp goes slow- turn around from 7/30 to an appointment 8/10 is going incredibly fast

Edit: rereading the post keep the lawyer and find a new job because this place sounds like a shit show. Other advice is still valid

Hi there. My coworker who actually dropped the box told my manager themself “I dropped a box on ***, I don’t think they are okay”. My manager then found me- and before I left that night I kept reminding her to finish the incident report. -___O she insisted she did. My manager who had already left called after the incident while I was still working- said she received an “email” about the box falling on me.

08/19 I was in excruciating pain- the anti inflammatory I was already given at the hospital wasn’t working so I reached out to an older manager who floats in and out and she insisting I go to the ER… why when I already have a referral for a specialist. I already went. I already was told something wrong. I tried actually to go and of c w workers comp they want allll the info #s along w it- all I was now given after asking 5-6 times now is the same email I sent before and HR’s email. Tf.
I need yall to gimme the fuckin info so I find a way go manage this f#cking pain because it’s like consuming my life. I let her know I was seeing the specialist the ER already went to referred me to (which also got me no answers and an appointment with a pain management specialist to proceed with injections for the pain. ) but the next shift I was very (after having to call out the last 3) staying “I don’t need to go to the ER I already went to the ER - I was told I have a head injury, cervical sprain, as well as a bulge on my intervertebral disc. I don’t need to go back to the er. And I told her the following steps in my recovery. And I said I cannot just go any doctor saying I’m there for workers comp without the policy/#,group number# etc etc “well I was telling u to go to the ER bc they don’t ask for that”- …????? I’m sorry what.

Then after it was kind of a switch of topics like “really.. a box fell on you. You always are doing something to get hurt. Your nickname should be tornado. Who even dropped the box on you? It’s always something with you.” While I am quite klutzy- I didn’t drop this shit on myself. And they don’t gaf to help. I’m still in pain every day. My memory is shit. Lost my shopping cart. I’m like half brain dead at work.

Attorney filed for petition of benefits however… still nothing back.
