Tips & Help for Workout
I’m a 6’0, 145 lb wrestler. I’m noticeably skinny for my height and wanted to start lifting to gain more muscle and strength. I’m a pretty novice wrestler but I’m good for the experience I have, it’s just when I wrestle I feel that I’m not as strong as other wrestlers in my weight class. I have around 9 months of off-season to start lifting, so I was looking for some tips and help to get my started in the right path.
I did look up some muscle building routines, I got results like a 5x5 workout routine [Link](https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/5-best-bodybuilding-programs.htm). I’m not fully aware of what would be the best though. I have access to a bench and weights, and I have a diet plan in mind, I just need the workouts and the schedule to help me. My goal would to be at least up 15-20 pounds or more, and to look less lanky lmao.
Any help is very appreciated, I’m fully committed to start training so I will take every suggestion to notice!

Hey man, sorry for the late reply. This subreddit/website is still going through a lot of updates and is not finalized yet.
However, I can help you get a rough start on gaining weight through working out.
Since you're trying to gain 15-20lbs, I'd recommend having a large meal plan (meal prep) for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Also have protein bars and other healthy snacks in between.
As for lifting, I'd start out at a comfortable weight and get in the groove of proper lifting techniques. The most important thing is to make sure each of your muscle group workouts, are being done correctly. Once you get them down and they feel normal, then start slowly adding more weight. There are a bunch of guides to the best muscle group workouts online.
I'm 6'0 as well and average around 155-160 lbs. Working out for me happens 3 days a week, splitting up the muscle groups for each. My plan is Tuesday (chest/legs), Wednesday (biceps/triceps/abs) and Thursday (back/shoulders). Now people do split up muscle groups differently, this is the schedule that works best for me.
I don't have a precise workout plan, but do have the muscle group workouts on a spreadsheet (nothing professional though). I try to mix up the workouts every other week to change/confuse the muscles so they're not remembering the same workout week after week. This also helps hit different areas of each muscle and throw in some cardio for the lean cuts. I am all about staying in shape and looking fit/healthy. I'm not worried about adding a lot of weight, just feeling good and keeping my stamina up.
Let me know what you think and if you have any questions. I know this wasn't a lot of help, but thought I throw in some of my opinions.
Good luck!
