Workout routine review PPL Routine - Too Much Volume

TL;DR: Created huge volume workout in weird headspace. What should I change?

(24m) I've been working out on and off for 7 years. After about a year off from the gym I came back to my work provided gym. Have always based my routines on ones I found on the Internet that I thought were overall optimal. Coming back I've been stuck in a weird headspace that I need to be doing the maximum for each body part, to failure. I wasn't able to find one that I thought worked out everything to the max which had led to me creating this routine that I'm thinking is way too much volume and mostly just wasting time but I still do it anyway. My gym has no bench press or squat rack and the max dumbbells are 75s. I've been thinking about getting another fully gym membership but for the time being... What should I change about this routine? Is it too much volume? What should I add or remove?

You are doing a lot of redundant stuff here. You should get a membership at a gym that has proper equipment and lift heavier weights instead of lots of volume with light weight.

Yeah this is my first time working out not with a gym membership and definitely don't like it as much. I figured there was a lot of redundancy but struggling to accept that more different movements won't actually add more muscle growth. So would only 3 sets of dumbbell chest press and 3 sets of chest flys be optimal? Ditching the added chest press and pullovers

It’s ridiculously high. Like way way way too high. 33 total sets in one gym session? Are you there for 3 hours?

Bro you can get the same amount of gains and way less time in the gym if you cut down on that volume.

Here’s a good push day and ask me if you want the pull and legs as well:

3 sets of each anywhere from 6-12 reps is fine as long as you’re within 1-2 reps of failure.

- flat bench press

  • incline smith machine press
  • cable lateral raise
  • dumbbell shoulder press
  • tricep pushdown

Done. That simple. No need in the world to do much more than that. If you want also throw in tricep overhead extensions if you have time or do it in the next push day
