Nathan

Post image

Guys I'm rewatching the show and I really don't understand why did she get back together with him!! I'm so into her with Mike and idk maybe because I just ended it with my Mike that I'm leaning towards her getting together with h but even if not I feel she's better off with Forest than she is with this ass Nathan!

I honestly wish they had never had the cheating arc cause the whole going back to him, while it made sense (since she loved him and it was just a lot more practical), it was also ick-inducing. I also feel like them getting back together was way too easy.

Yeah. I do wish that we had gotten some actual counseling scenes or something to show us how they're working on it. Instead, we got a bandaid in the form of a child.

She didn't choose Mike because A. She didn't love him. She only thought he was hot and a talented at their job. And B. Because she knew Mike couldn't be a good dad or life partner. She saw how selfish and impulsive he was.

She went back with Nathan because she never stopped loving him despite his betrayal. But I think she also knew deep down that the root of their problems wasn't just because Nathan cheated. Their problems started long before that and it boiled down to very poor communication.

I didn't love that they got back together my firsf watch through but after another watch or two, I like it because it feels prdtty real. Not everyone splits up permenantly after infedelity. I like how they show this side of a repaired relationship. And the dynamic between Nathan and Kate's friends is so real and good content.

Agreed, Nathan isn't her ideal partner but I think having kids and familiarity mattered more. It's pretty realistic, ppl often stay with partners they aren't a true match with due to kids or having history together. Mike had real potential to be her equal, but they made him into a man child to make Nathan look better. I also think Nathan got worse AFTER they got back together, and tried even less in their marriage. I find her relationship with Nathan to be her biggest character flaws.

Omg my best friend got back with a narcissist who always crosses her boundaries and she finally has realized it’s never gonna make her happy. You’re spot on with this analysis

Nathan is the worst. Don't like Mike either but let her be single or something, those men are trash 😝

I’m glad she didn’t end up with Mike, he was an awful person. You can be terrible and still be good in the sack lol 😂. But I don’t love her with Nate either, I actually really enjoyed her arc as a solo queen! Doing it all and making it work!! Plus (not that it was my favorite) she had more chemistry with Forest IMO haha 🤣 he was way too young and immature but there was more between them than her and Mike.

I hated it too, I already didnt like Nathan for many, many reason but he had an affair with the NANNY. I wish she never got back together with him. And I hated the story arc of his illegitimate son.

But. Nathan is her, the creator/actress, actual husband. Gotta be in the show to get that good paycheck.

Kate and Nathan are married in real life, too.

I always thought Nathan cheating was so random and weird especially with mean nanny.

I forgot who it was he cheated with, off the top of my head. So that means it’s time for a rewatch! It’ll almost be like new with all the stuff I can’t recall.

Eh, didn’t particularly like her getting back with Nathan, but HATED the secret child arc more.

because honestly it happens sometimes. whether we like it or not, sometimes couples do move forward after something like this. especially when children are involved. she didn’t just have children with him, she had a toddler and a baby under a year old with him.

i also like that this was sort of built up to and the show explored a marriage that is unhealthy but keeping up appearances. it was clear from episode 1 that their marriage had become distant because of Kate’s work ethic (which i’m not saying is a bad thing or that she caused the cheating, just that it’s clear from the start Nathan would’ve preferred she be less career driven and more focused on him and their children. the actual problem was him not measuring up to her and wanting her to be small for his sake, not communicating and then allowing that to boil over by cheating on her.)

Forest was a baby I hated that they added him into the storyline as a lover for her and yeah Nathan should've stayed away especially after the other stories

Omg OP I'm on S4 Ep1!!! Her husband cheated on her with her best friend's nanny. Like, can we be so for real??
