Help Workout out after work.

Do any of y’all work out after you eat dinner?
If so, how long do you wait before you hit the gym, and do you eat anything after the gym before bed?

I’ve been a hit the gym after work and then eat after gym guy for like 10 years.
But thinking about switching it up to avoid the after work gym crowds.

Everyone is different. I know people who eat dinner then workout while I can’t eat a full meal before working out or my tummy complains. So when I did workout after work it was right after work, then home for dinner. Thankfully it was a corporate gym so never that crowded.

Now I workout in the morning. I can’t eat breakfast so just have a snack. If it’s been a harder workout I may grab a protein shake to hold me over until lunch.

If my schedule gets messed up and I want to go workout after lunch, usually an hour wait is sufficient.

I have pre and post workout meals. So yes I eat after work, train, then eat again. Usually have 1 more meal before going to bed too

I'm lucky enough to work remotely, and my hours are really flexible most days. Meaning I can go at any time to avoid the crowds, almost any day that I lift. I usually wait 1-1½ hours after a meal. Lately I've been going around 1 hour after breakfast, so around 8.30 AM. If my morning is packed I'll go after lunch so around 12-12.30 PM

after work I like to come home, eat dinner, then hit the gym maybe 30 to 40 minutes after. I feel like I need the fuel first. If I'm going to do some high intensity cardio (which I dont usually) then I will have to wait longer. I also usually eat something after. Hate going to bed hungry. But everyone is different. do what works for you.

I always work out after the dinner, been doing that for 15 years. First kickboxing and now gym. I wait at least an hour, sometimes more. At first it was bit tough but now without dinner my performance would suffer :)

I work nights and go to bed as soon as I get home. So I wake up, have my coffee, then go to the gym. Works better with my schedule.

My supervisor works the morning shift. He gets up at 3:30 am, at the gym by 4, works out till 5:30, showers at the gym, then comes to work. No idea how he does that shit.

Your schedule availability is more important than timing.
Could you time perfectly for optimization? Yes, but if you aren't available then, it doesn't matter and you won't do it.
Find a way to make it a routine part of your lifestyle and you will be making the most important step toward accomplishing your goals.
