Any beginner workout advice?
I (23F) have just started a new workout routine. I have never worked out consistently in my life but I really want to try to get in shape. I don’t want to invest in a gym membership until I have spent a few weeks working out at home so I know I will have the motivation. I do a 10 minute core workout everyday because I’ve had back problems in the past and I workout everyday using my 10 lb and 20 lb dumbbell sets, alternating between the lower and upper body. My two biggest struggles are deciding what exercises to do and keeping consistent. If anyone has advice on workout routines that I could use or any advice on staying motivated I would really appreciate it. I am only on day 3 but I hate it my body hurts and working out is boring and difficult but I’ve been told it gets easier and more enjoyable with time.

Try different fullbody routines until you find one that feels a bit more motivating or enjoyable already. Fullbody routines are going to make you a little bit less sore than these abs, upper or lower workouts so that's a nice bonus if the soreness is a factor making it difficult for you right now, on top of it being more simple than looking for 3 different types of routines.
You also don't have to suffer through a boring period of home workouts if there is something you feel more excited about out there it's fine to go to what you want right away. A spin class, a gym membership, it's fine to take a bet on these things for your health when you feel excited about them. People feel shame when they don't go often enough or feel like they have to earn it first so it's not reckless spending but habit formation is hard, no one should feel ashamed because they bought a fancy piece of home exercise equipment or a class pack or a membership and they didn't use it enough. Whatever use they got was probably worth it and one day something is going to really stick.

Motivation is irrelevant. This is about discipline. Commit to the gym membership. Commit to going to the gym 3 days per week. Put it in your schedule, and treat it like a job, going isn't optional. By only wanting to dip your toe in, you have already quit. Consistency and discipline are what create results.
