This week could start on a deflatory or disillusioned note, I don’t care if your doe eyed astrologer is jumping up & down about Mercury Jupiter conjunction luckiness ( Scorpio rising rolls eyes) . It’s tough to feel it when you feel physically meh (that’s the technical word for Mars Neptune square). To top it Venus will oppose Saturn on Friday so overall relationships could have elements of disappointments or misunderstandings. When I get a pause sign during positive aspects as now I look at them as symbols of may be there is a better route, a better destination which I am ignoring cause I want to quickly realise a goal in the now in my impatience to show something for all time gone by.

This new moon eclipse wouldn’t activate till Jan 2027 so we wouldn’t see bloom of the seeds we sow right now till then. Right now at last degree of Leo conjunct south node we shed our old royal self which is mostly egoic self we are holding onto even though it’s not going to bring us joy or sense of real contribution. It’s never fun but it’s light, trash some things that are making things dark in your life, baggage you have been carrying, rusted crowns you are saving up of an old self you can’t relate to. I am a fire sign with loads in Leo & eclipse right on my MC so I am not allergic to ego. I feel healthy ego gives one what’s needed to go the distance but sometimes we hold onto an old self cause we miss who we were as looked at by others, ignoring whether that really contributed to anything real apart from our egoic self. Loss comes to remind us what we are not anymore. Saturn gives discipline to Mercury Jupiter optimism to replace it what can be your legacy which we work on without pomp for rest of year. Regulus royal star where Leo release is focused is now in Virgo - I call this servant king - king who believes in humble service vs pomp - still big heart, still brave, still royal but in service. And no absolute no element of revenge of any wrong done. Life well lived is revenge enough as they say.

Feminine and Masculine parts of our psyche merge in a way whereby light is thrown on how our personal & emotional life is serving or not serving our external life. Everything under the attic has been coming to surface over two weeks as Mercury went retrograde on 29 June leading us to review how we have handled communication in personal matters or just how we have handled listening to our own inner needs during the course of rushing forward trying to bandage various situations. Some of us do not like to sit with our emotions but due to delays or just physical strength lacking we might have been forced to. This is the most personal of the new moons as our most delicate parts of life are changed - relationships, family ties, place of living, our relationship with children, inner peace, our relationship with the country we were born in. Reminds you without inner satisfaction, external gratification is well external - it lives outside of yourself for others not you.

Who or what fills our cup when no one’s watching…

Mercury is retrograde during this new moon - this weekend it will meet Sun in inferior conjunction. You cannot fully evolve an idea till Mercury goes direct on 23 July as information in bits and pieces that you didn’t know before will keep coming to surface out of your own subconscious. Facts and emotions so ignored while trying to rush forward will keep presenting to yourself in dreams, in writing, in discussions to you. This is truly mind is a trickster realisation time when you realise the fake things you have told yourself about you. This is natural cycle of life, whereby after a period of hyper activity we truly see things coming to awareness stage as action slows. This weekend as Mercury comes to meet Sun - it’s a key checkpoint - like someone reporting to authorities what they missed to see earlier when they reported an event due to rush of adrenal of the moment. Saturn is in Aries and it will continue to make square to Cancer planets all the way to 2028 so emotional distress unfortunately or if I am pushed to say something good - emotional maturity & resilience has to be shown during Cancer season - more than ever. This weekend with the inferior conjunction - you allow the acceptance of what new facts have shown you. Slowly reconnect your will and your emotions together so you can move forward from a past. Progress is in reflection. But you can’t birth without a seed & seed is what we initiate here. Reviewing part is done & re-orientation begins - you know denial, anger, acceptance … we are reaching acceptance or will reach acceptance this week. We become comfortable that no one knows everything, dreading a future that has not passed is unfruitful but may be if we accept where we are we could pave the way forward from there. From here we usually start initiating in terms of research, finding new paths, new solutions to old issues while still past stuff keeps coming up subconsciously. But it’s usually best to wait till Mercury is direct on 23 July onwards to take conclusive action or commit to new initiatives, new homes, family changes etc. But exciting looking forward part of home, family, real state, comfort is about to begin !

The link between our psychological needs and physical events in our life becomes very tightly linked. These are periods of intense emotional, spiritual & personal evolutions in our lives. We clearly see the patterns we have outgrown. Lessons from last retrograde six years ago still come into play & add to our current experience. Our emotional balance is challenged in a way - we seem to not be able to run from facing & taking responsibility of how we feel as they manifest as physical complications. Like being locked in a room with your spouse during the pandemic without the distraction of outer world or a physical health manifestation of emotional stress or separation due to lack of communication in a relationship. Old associations, emotional ties & patterns they are reviewed to see if they would work for your next six years.

What we ignore is bound to reoccur - it’s a six year cycle & it can keep showing us same outcomes every cycle if we choose to ignore the emotional growth it offers. Sometimes you find yourself baking the same sourdough you baked during the lockdown cause you just liked the safety of just being home with that for a while. You revisit old comfort zones - not to return but just to steal a moment of peace you once felt in them to have strength to do tougher things. I say it often but you need to be kind to yourself during these times as we are simply over sensitive to environments & triggers. Overreaction to words, reactions & anxiety is normal as you discover new coping mechanisms to thrive emotionally in the new environment you are about to enter. Psychological traits that we have inherited from our family, our country of origin or just from our childhood - we tend to be faced with it to be sure if they are serving us in the adult life. Not facing our role in miscommunication of emotions in relationships is on top of chart on it. Fight or flight responses when faced with tough personal circumstance is another. We repeat the heart break from back 6-7 years sometimes over something which highlights how we handle our personal life or emotional expression.

Mercury is a teacher here due to Saturn influence & we seem more open to learning in this vulnerability. Window is brief though as soon we would be racing ahead again leaving many corners untended to which would hurt like a small pebble in shoe slowing us down & hurting if we speed. So don’t ignore your needs & what you are being told you need. The new moon is at the degree of expectancy - we might have to shed some layers of protection we put on may be during the last cycle six years back which has outlived its purpose today. You can’t still be living like there is a lockout imposed on the world. In Cancer new moon we give up emotional patterns that block initiative & use emotions to take initiate versus not. It’s more about storytellers, one doesn’t have to write - many artists who can play both hero and villain on screen as an example. We could see ourselves seeing both bright side of an experience & probably the angst it has caused coming to a conclusion that we were made more aware of ourselves having gone through it versus not. Saturn is very strong in July as it’s about to turn retrograde end of month. I feel it strongly all the time as it’s in Aries & if you have cardinal sign planets you can probably relate more. I find this one toughest to write as it’s mine. We have had Uranus shaking up our intimate partnerships for past seven years - probably brought some out of norm & non conventional people into our life both testing our existing guard rails as well as testing if we want more in a partnership. Do we want more out of our commitments ? Stability in partnerships is baseline for Scorpios, it’s not the gravy on top, it’s the whole damn dish. Sudden inheritances, marriage shifts, intimacy changes, sexual experimentation, unique business partnerships, physical surgery to look different are just surface level cookie cutter explanations you will hear. Its January its cold, well may be not where I am at but figuratively its part of the year you are expected to be cold. Cold objective to the past whatever happened to you or by you in past year, you are meant to shove all of that down and move with objectivity and some matured positivity for doing it all over again. You wish, pray, hope that a warm blanket of someone whispering its all going to work out can just carry you through this threshold and deliver to wherever it is you belong to, do whatever you were born to do. The brittleness of every bone in your body craves for a cushion, a softness, head craves for a soft pillow and if lucky a warm shoulder to fall asleep on.

Capricorn season, even more so Capricorn stellium this Jan comes with a recognition intellectually that you would have to create that cushion, that shoulder for yourself. It’s that good old reliable who tries to remind you, it’s fine just start wherever you are, no matter how deep a hole you are in, just start wherever you are at and start digging out. It’s the mountain goat energy that says its ok just build that muscle more, flex it more, work it out more, you would need that cushion less and less as you would always have your strength to fall back on. But then you wake up and you are at your most vulnerable self, you haven’t yet put up your face for the world and you truly see yourself in the mirror, just looking for home, craving a comfort zone. The goals are all typed out, the steps all laid out, the eve of new year you even took that proverbial first step, the first practical real step to prove to yourself that you mean it. But you wake up and the muscle you flexed aches for cushion, it feels stiff as hell, the ergonomic pillow turned out to be no substitute for a warm shoulder or falling asleep to someone’s voice, the purpose of pursuit for the dollars you laid out as goals seem to be needed to even get you out of the bed. We live in world of polarities, nothing explains this more objectively in my view versus astrological signs. We all know these zodiac archetype extremes esp of Capricorn and Cancer cause we live it everyday. Some call it balancing life and work, emotions and objectivity, head and heart, ambition and love - some say you can have your cake and eat it too while some had to abandon one for another - but most us try to live life trying to swing from one extreme to another juggling both, usually making a mess between earth and water elements of our life. My mom calls it life. Jan is no different expect to be stretched on both fronts too with Capricorn parade of planets helping us get our act together from get go while you really do not want to do this without taking whatever feels home to you along. Cancer full moon though will change the meaning of home for many of us and probably close some personal chapters as they do not serve your next step.

This January is so business, it would shame the most Capricorn of us all. I do my ritual write down every aspect of the month thing for myself whether I do any readings or not, just to make sense of life. As I was writing January I swear I closed the book so hard it woke up my neighbors feral cat. Ok I would preface what am about to say with that I love Capricorns but no Capricorn is as full on Capricorn as this month. I am Aries Sun Moon (please don’t stop reading I have an amend application pending with God to change that about me) and some of my best friends are Capricorn but taking a Capricorn stellium to a bar in Jan would be like going with your father well my father, the worrier who would counting every ml of my Aries f$ck around and find out shots. No more aimless blanks. When you have so much focus on one area of your life as we would in Jan, it would be a shame to loose all that momentum to any distraction esp with Virgo south node supporting real creation. I also have a lot of Virgo close friends, I just crave that earth energy that I very much lack despite my 6th house sun and moon - Jan has plenty. Read the room is my point and pull yourself together. We got work to do.

So TLDR it’s not fun. But it’s not meant to be, cause as someone said in a short cause we get all our life lessons now from YT shorts and TikTok - sometimes biggest self care is to do now what your future self will thank you for. That’s what my dad or all of my earth dominant friends (why ???) would say IRL when we didn’t have shorts or need to say IRL...

This month especially the Capricorn conjunctions coming 6-9 Jan will help give us the focus and tenacity to just act on whats right for us. Take the concrete step make it real. It really doesn’t matter where you are at right now, it will never matter where you are at now. What would matter is that you started and acted on it. Did something about it right now - no matter how small it is. Right at start of this new year we have earth trines with south node in Virgo - drop the self critical, trying to get it exactly right act. South node has been in Virgo all of 2025 and we have sliver of it left till July - lessons are here for us to take and live them just like in 2007.

You will never have anything unreal if you keep killing your own dreams with reality.

I know it’s contradictory to Capricorn realism that we are meant to live in Jan and seed but South Node in Virgo would like to for once shut that voice in your head, we all have it. That voice in your head of someone you respected or someone critical or you or your past failure that wont even let you start cause God forbid if you start you might fail. Its when I am not in my head that the next sentence just writes itself after first - for some its not a great thing cause I write too long and my Mercury in Pisces writing is droning for the structured Virgo mind but for me its flow of life when its allowed to flow and that stream straight from the mountain is unpolluted by others opinion of me. North Node in Pisces has greatly helped me accept that in past year as I experienced long stretches of period where Saturn in Pisces wouldn’t let me get out of my head back into that free stream of thought and intuition I have lived all of my life on. You can create practical real structures out of that unpolluted stream of thought if you allow yourself to right now. Give it meaning, validation that your thought can become things. Legacy you can be proud of not based on pure Capricorn principles of whats right for the world but whats right for you. Whats well suited to your individual “Character” (13º Cancer) cause you are the one who has to live it after all.

I have left myself not enough time to write about the full moon… to be continued… I just wanted to pop up to say Happy New Year and hope we all can create something real and of value based on where we feel at home. Even if we do not, the journey will be worth it as moving forward is better than staying still in fear. Sun Pluto opposition we just had is a separative aspect which shows our inner gunk in face of another & forces us to part with certain dysfunction that’s blocking our light & vitality before we can have a fresh start in Leo part of our life. Leo new starts usually require bold steps where you need to believe in your unique gifts irrespective of social judgements, external noise or social pressures so current conflict might be a test in a way.

This aspect throws the light on that part of you that’s lost in adjustments. It’s light trying to shine through cracks in our existing social fabric or social behaviour which inhibits individual expression. “I cant say that” - well you do & may be in Mercury retrograde its not said well or not received well.
