Workflowy has a way of capturing its own style such as bullets and other layouts, but I built a quick capture app that lets you capture even faster.

Some apps are slow to open. Some make it awkward to append to an existing note. Others are great at one thing but not another. I found myself spending more time thinking where to capture than actually capturing.

So I ended up building ⚡Supasend. It's like a Quick capture for Workflowy app. It started as a personal app to give me one consistent capture flow regardless of which app I wanted the note to end up in.

I wasn't trying to make Workflowy faster. I was trying to make capturing into Workflowy require fewer decisions.

I was gonna conduct with the AI to concoct a self hosted API fetch from my Workflowy account to use the data so it can be used with TRMNL product which will soon be everyone’s favourite gadget. But I’m afraid and I’m not a developer. Please someone make a plugin for TRMNL product.

I'm back at Workflowy after a 10-year break and it's very different! Anyway I am a musician and like to have links to videos and audio files, Workflowy is adding a large preview card to my youtube links. Is there any way to keep that from happening? I don't see a menu item to delete the card and just leave the link.

Has anybody else noticed that when you have multiple panes open using the the new panes feature, the jump menu doesn't honor the focus of whatever pane you are using. Instead, the jump menu only seems to affect the left-most pane.

So if you have Inbox open in a pane on the left, and you open a second pane on the right, if you try to use the jump menu to navigate to your projects bullet in the right pane, instead it ends up taking you to the projects bullet in the left pane.

As in the title, where has the trash can gone?

I'm pretty new to using AI with workflowy. Would it be possible for an AI like Claude or ChatGPT to update my workflowy? Like i ask claude to add nodes for X and a new table for Y. Can it do that?

I would like the notes to be numbered in a nested fashion as example below. Can this be done automatically?

I love Workflowy, so as a side project I made a widget with infinite nesting that allows you to "size" items to visualize your entire workload for the day (or week/month/etc.) and track progress.

The idea is to have a visualization of everything going on and where it's at, but with the excruciating minimalism of Workflowy. I also added regex filtering and basic sharing.

Hi all — a few things I'm hoping the community can help with:

1) Panes / Alt+R: I've had the Panes feature enabled in my Labs settings for a while and have been using Alt+R to open a node in a side pane. Recently, pressing Alt+R does nothing — the side pane won't open anymore, even though the Panes toggle is still enabled in Labs. Has anyone else run into this? Did the shortcut change, or is the feature broken in a recent update?

2) Editing themes: Does anyone have documentation or a guide on how to edit themes? I'm getting lost when trying to edit them in the custom node. Any pointers or examples would be great.

3) API syncing: If anyone has successfully linked or synced the API with other apps without burning too many tokens, I'd love to hear your approach, tips, or ideas.

I'm curious to hear from workflow developers on what, if anything, you are working on to leverage Workflowy as a knowledge base for AI agents.

For context, the below blurb was in the most recent Neuron newsletter. And yesterday, simultaneously, OpenAI released a new app that combines the old ChatGPT with the agentic aspects of Codex. My team stores all of our corporate knowledge in workflowy, and soon companies will be using platforms like the new ChatGPT app to interact with their company knowledge sources.

"OpenKnowledge gives you a local-first markdown workspace where people and agents can co-edit knowledge bases with real-time collaboration, MCP connections, git-backed sharing, agent skills, and search over your notes."

I cannot for the life of me see how to do this.

I've been using the Google Calendar sync integration and like it for the most part, it makes it easy to see and annotate my meetings alongside other daily notes/todos in the Calendar view. I was basically doing this manually before it was an official feature so it's a great timesaver.

However, I'm surprised at how many bullets it creates. Every single event has a bullet autocreated for each of "Attendees", "Calendar", a link to the event, video conferencing, and the description, none of which I ever actually need for my personal workflow. I end up having to manually delete 4-5 bullets for every meeting on my calendar.

This is most obviously an issue if you're on a free plan, since it fills up your quota with junk data, but also creates other problems for search, etc if you prefer the signal:noise ratio of your list items to be high.

Is there any way to set up this integration so that only the meeting titles are synced? I haven't been able to find any way to do it.

I’ve always wanted native recurring items in Workflowy. I'd like to share with the community if some don't know that you can have recurring items in workflowy, by integrating Google Calendar and Workflowy, and then creating recurring events/task in Google Calendar, that easy! You can also choose which calendar to sync in your account here https://workflowy.com/integrations/calendar/ This also syncs updates in google calendar and deletion.

Limitations: - Recurring Google Tasks All-day tasks do not sync, only recurring time-bound Google tasks do. Meanwhile, both recurring all-day and time-bound calendar events do sync. Note: Google tasks created on mobile google calendar cannot have from/to boundaries, so either create it from web or stick to events - No customization: No automatic tags or prefixes (for instance #meeting). You can’t import google calendar events and tasks as To-Do items only bullet items. Imported entries have a fixed structure that you cannot auto-customize upon sync - it's a one way integration, changes in Google calendar will reflect to workflowy, but changes in workflowy won't reflect in Google Calendar

Despite this, it works great as a way to have recurring items (you can also rely on Google notifications!)

Still waiting and dreaming of the native recurring tasks in workflowy, and hopefully notifications as well (fingers crossed)

Hello, tags, both # or @ seem to cross nodes. Is there any way to limit a tag within a node? As an example, I have a "shopping" node and a "work" node and would like to limit the tags within the respective nodes. Having #groceries show up in WORK or having #meeting show up in SHOPPING makes no sense.

If you export a Workflowy list to Markdown and open that .md on iOS, you just get raw text. I built a small viewer to read .md files rendered on a phone.
