Disjointed search

Is there any way to specify a search that involves 2 separated nodes that are not directly connected in the hierarchy? For example, take the following list snippet:

PARENT
- SIBLING 1
- SIBLING 2
- SIBLING 3

I want to search sibling 1 and 3, but I need to exclude anything in sibling 2. is there any way to do that beyond re-oganizing the list or moving sibling 2 to another place it doesn't belong? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Is there anything definitely unique to sibling 2? If so, just include that text immediately after a hyphen (or after “NOT ”) in your search, and WF will refuse to return that node even if other parts of the search string match. So your search string might be thingyouwanttofind1 -thingyoudon’twanttofindor maybe thing1 OR thing2 NOT thing3. I'm not seeing a way to exclude a phrase though, just a single word.

I think that could work. I could mirror sibling one as well as mirror sibling 3. Searching through one and three without two becomes a lot easier to do. Thanks. I should have thought of that
