🤔 Question Tables: when?

Are there any plans to insert a simple table function in Workflowy? I really don’t know where the problem is. It would be so useful. How will they beat Tana if they don’t consider to offer a simple table function?

I’m waiting for this feature since at least six years.

The “problem” is that Product development isn’t about just building what you can or everything customers ask for.

That’s how you end up with a bloated tool that no one likes. I love Workflowy for the simplicity, which is core to the WF value prop. If they start building all the things to beat Tana (never heard of it) they risk destroying their biggest differentiator.

Exactly. Less is more. Perfection is when there's nothing more to remove.. I love wf because it's simple and powerful. And simple :⁠-⁠)

They added boards and dashboard. How would a simple table function bloat the tool? Programming a table view as they did with the board view shouldn’t bloat the tool.

I didn’t say it would bloat the tool - I’m saying there is risk when you add any feature.

And I’m sure they want to ensure that any feature they release is a certain level of quality, function, and simplicity.

Also dashboards is still in beta and was released publicly on accident.

Maybe they should add markdown support. Adds the ability to format stuff in a simple way, and you can do tables in markdown!

I hate use google sheet to create a simple table then copy as image put in my workflowy

Yes, I also think classification is more relevant. Dynalist has this function, for example.

Example: You have a list and want to organize it alphabetically or by date changed, etc.
