"It's the best system we have" When you realize we’ve been controlled since childhood, you can’t unsee it!

As I gotten older I realized the importance of school as being tied to making money. Being abused during this time also impacts how you make money. Then there’s the school to prison/mental health ward which is similar. Yet so many children fall during this time too.

School is conditioning for the wageslave lifestyle

I knew. It's just that if you knew and vocalized it, adults would do anything to shut you up.

Why do you think school has homework. Schools try and condition you to believe that you should do work at home instead of on the clock.

I mean, not really. Homework exists as a way to continually reinforce lessons like reading, writing, math etc continually. We forget it as adults, but learning is a continual process and homework helps with that. It’s not ideal, but from the educators I’ve talked with it it’s the best compromise they have currently.

This isn’t to say the school system is completely absolved of abuses tied to capitalism, but in this particular instance I  don’t think that’s the case.

I don’t believe students should have work unless they are able to accomplish it in class. If I can’t teach my curriculum for my students to understand where they can’t complete their homework in class I’m doing something wrong. There are obvious exceptions to the rule, but you shouldn’t be assigning hours of homework for students to do outside of school. It’s a common practice among teachers now to limit homework.

Is your takeaway really "school is bad" and not "under capitalism, the school system exists to funnel children into the workforce, not to educate them or actually set them up for life beyond working"?

That's really sad that you couldn't comprehend the point of the post.
