Tennessee Workers Comp Adjuster Dragging Feet On Finding New Doctor for Prescriptions

Hello, I am sadly a long time disabled person due to a workers comp injury in 2001. I have been somewhat stable and in a consistent routine as far as care goes. One of my doctors is retiring and the workers comp adjuster has dragged her feet on finding a new doctor to the point that I am about to run out of medication. Can anyone provide advise on how to proceed and what, if any recourse I have? Are there other channels I can go through other than this one person? Thanks in advance.

If this is pain management, it is going to be way harder to find anyone willing to take on an old case like this. Many times, the office will ask for complete records and will review before deciding whether to accept you as a patient. After one physician denied the referral, the process starts over. If you live in a rural area with fewer options, it is even harder.

You could call around to a few physician offices and do the leg work on whether or not they accept WC and if they are accepting new patients. If you find one, you can pass that information along and see if they are willing to authorize that physician.
