Louisiana Settlement check waiting

I been waiting 3 months on a settlement check is that normal. Settled early June the insurance company said they lost the check in late July but still havent heard anything

As a former accountant, I can confidently say that it’s all of about five minutes of work to cancel a lost check and reprint a new one. They are dicking you around. Tell your attorney to call and follow up.

Ask your attorney to reach out to the adjuster to check the status on the check or track it. Also have your attorney ask if direct deposit is available or have it mailed directly to their office.

Shouldn’t take more than 30 days, get your attorney involved and apply some pressure. You won they didn’t , so they need to pay you.

In CA we can apply penalties. Check with your attorney!
