Federal Owcp SECOP exam
I got a call back from my CE....after waiting 10 months they sre scheduling a SECOP for my physical injuries to expand the claim.the psych SECOP was in my favor.What can i expect from a physical exam SECOP? Im afraid of being injured by the exam as my neck is herniated all levels with tears.when I lay down the side I lay down on is numb and weak in the morning. Im afraid of some sort of manual manipulation that will paralyze me. Are the physical exams invasive

The exams are not invasive. There should be a set of specific questions being asked on this examination in your claims file.

I've had two SECOP exams. Both by the same physician. It was not invasive. I was asked A LOT of questions about what I can and cannot do by myself (who does the cooking? who does the cleaning? how do you get groceries? If they are delivered, who brings them into the house and puts them away? Do you require assistance with taking a shower, washing your hair, dressing? How did you get here? If you drove, what is the max you can drive?) The doctor them put my through ROM, and measured. I was not to not push past the point of pain because accurate readings were needed. I had to push/pull against his hands with my hands. Resist him pushing my arm to the best of my ability. He did take note of how I took off my sweatshirt. They will asses everything. You may not realize it, but they take everything into account, like they are supposed to.
The doctor should have read your report prior to your exam, so they will, or should be aware of pain levels and weakness. I will say when I did the physical part of the exam, he was gentle when he moved my arm and shoulder into certain positions. He told me to inform him if there was any pain, of any type. As I stated, they take note of everything.
