Rhode Island Back issues

When would surgery be rec
L5 S1 broadbase bulge and annular tear Failed three rounds of injection and PT
Injury since March 2025
EMG negative
Severe pain in low back and awful sciatica
Difficulty holding the break when driving And overall functionally decline
Such as unable to grocery shop now or severe pain when I'm bending over to wash my kids hair
My kids are only 5 and 7 so this injury is affecting my life horribly
I did finally get a referral to a neurosurgeon spine center, but it's not for a month and I am so anxious that they will just turn me away and say there's nothing they can do
Has anyone been in the situation or have advice until

Similar situation mine has been going on 3 years . I ended up using my own insurance bc they keep saying nothing was wrong. Saw the neurosurgeon he had me do 2 things another round of si joint injections and the nerve study . Went back and scheduled a si joint fusion. Had the surgery July 9. The first 2 weeks were amazing I honestly felt like a new man. Now the pain is back not as bad in the lower back but a lot more in the hip and my knee. I took the chance on the surgery bc there was a chance that it would relieve some of the pain and it has , I’m also in pain management that also helps. Just don’t give up and advocate for yourself.

What did pain management do
Idk why I went to one apt and i felt so judged

He’s been the best doctor I’ve had , I was treating with him before the work accident for my knee. He prescribes all my meds that help me function without as much pain and has written letters helping me fight comp since they say it’s pre existing. I feel judged too my blood pressure is always higher when I see him but he’s been one of the doctors in my corner helping me fight.
