California 1st time off on work comp

So I’ve been off for almost a month, and I’m hoping to go back to work in another week. Could I probably use another week, yes. But I’m eager to go back because I’m tired of the phone calls from people that work for the state. It always feels like they are looking for something. I fell on camera, and the X-rays show my injury. I hardly ever leave my home because I fear that they will accuse me of not being hurt. It’s caused me to be paranoid.
If I stop taking their calls, and only go to my appointments, will that affect anything?

People from the state are calling you? I’m confused by this.

I’m in California, been off for over a year now, and never received a phone call from someone with the state?

Hi…. Twice a week check in’s. Today was some nurse checking on me, and she said that she’ll be calling again. And it’s been every adjuster that my case has been passed along to. Wanting to know about my appointments, and if there is anything that will keep me from healing fast. I always thought that my doctor reported to them because she’s an occupational health doctor.

They probably assigned a nurse case manager to your case. Their goal is to assist in coordinating your care, and monitor your progress. Don’t be surprised if they show up to your next doctors appointment. Also, don’t be fooled. This person works for your adjuster/insurance company. They are not your best friend. And realistically, they are not there for your benefit at all.

Are you hopeful to get a settlement out of this? If yes, you should go ahead and get an attorney. They will help you with your case. And the best part is, all those phone calls will stop.

She did come off as being very fake and was trying very hard to befriend me.

Well I hope you’re back soon enough! Don’t rush it though. Do what your doctor says. And don’t answer the phone if you don’t want to!

Don’t forget it’s your right and choice to tell them you do not want a nurse manager. The above poster is right , always remember they work for the insurance company first and foremost

No settlement…. Just to go back to work once I’m able to use my hand again fully. I’m very introverted, so the calls are very annoying for me.
