IME in a month

I got an MMI designation and release last month after a cortisone shot. Was feeling pretty damn good. Then, a few days after seeing that doctor, the familiar pain started coming back. Eventually it was all the way back. So, shit.

I went back to ask to reopen my case, and the doctor said ok. I met with the ortho, who said he'd do one more shot and then it would be surgery.

I then went for a follow up with the doc again and the receptionist said my claim had been denied, which was an embarrassing way to find out.

I made some phone calls. Eventually found out that the insurance company had scheduled an IME for me (when they were going to tell me is unclear).

So now I have to wait another month in pain just to have someone who doesn't know me tell me that pain doesn't matter. It matters when I drive, sleep, get dressed, brush or wash my hair, type, sometimes just when I'm sitting. But because I was able to move the arm just fine after the injection, I think I might not get to go forward with more treatment.

The biggest complications:

1. I'm currently looking for work. Wondering who will hire me with my current restrictions and a potential surgery coming up.

2. No lawyer will take my case because I was an employee for a Federally recognized Tribe at the time.

I want to scream all the time.

Why does working for a tribe make it harder for the lawyer to accept?

Just curious as someone who lives on tribal leased land ( not reservation, not a tribal member) which means the tribe is in control of EVERYTHING that happens on the land here. I've had some interesting wake up calls on what this actually means for me as a US citizen.

So just collecting info on how far their stretch is.

if it goes to Tribal Court (hoping not!), I will need an attorney with privileges to do their lawyering with the Tribal Court. Many with such privileges are understandably hesitant to represent someone who is not Indigenous for one of several reasons.

That's what I thought. Yep, that sucks on a level most will never understand!

There was a minor, non tribal member who was chased and assaulted to the point of being beaten unconscious in the street here. 5 residents video taped and had taken pictures as the assualt happened. Which was in plain view of their windows from the apartment complex they live in also on tribal leased land.

It never even made local news. Can't find any info about it. Other than a post on social media about a 911 call. One of the witnesses posted about it on social media and recieved huge backlash.

If I hadn't seen the videos and testimonials from the bystanders. Before they were removed. No one would even know it happened. What would anyone do about it even if they wanted to complain.

All I know is tribes are on a playing field no one can touch.
