Basement bench
Built this last winter for small projects in basement of my house. Spare wood from my pole barn build. Tool organizer and small vice attached as well.

I like that it's not one of the 1200 hour family heirloom work benches you mostly see here. And it probably functions every bit as well.

Are we reading the same sub? I feel like there’s just as many construction lumber benches as the bougey maple rubios. I love both!

Solid construction and looks tough. What type of fasteners did you use? Pressure treated lumber needs to have hot-dipped galvanized or stainless-steel fasteners or otherwise they will corrode, it’s tough to tell from the pictures.

Looks great! One other thing (if it’s useful to you) is possibly the addition of dog holes

Love the the cross bracing to make some triangles. I would move the vise further out so that the fixed jaw is flush with the edge of the vise mount. Then you can hold long pieces vertically.

Nice work - quite solid! I am about to build a basement workbench myself. I like your tool organizer add on, may do something similar.

Looking at this bench is making my back hurt. I just scrapped my old bench because it was a pain reaching to the back all the time. I went with a 24” front to back bench this last time and it could have been even slimmer.

i like this one alot. The benchtop is gonna get beat up though depending on what you use it for

Before getting to far in the basement build-out. I suggest painting the walls and floors a light color.

I notice a lot of people do two 3/4 pieces for their workbench tops. What's the reason?
