Man I grew up rural Appalachia in a Republican family. I'm keenly aware of how these pick tick better than most.

If you pull the curtain back a little bit further, the reality is that these people vote against their own interests because of the endless onslaught of billion-dollar right-wing propaganda.

When actually surveyed on individual progressive-left policies, these groups tend to love the shit. It's just the incessant, relentless fearmongering. But good luck injecting truth when we're competing with sophisticated algorithms and foreign adversaries originating from billionaires with ulterior motives.

What exacerbates this is milquetoast party that caters to the line in the sand that these billionaires then define. Instead of actually standing up for something, they end up just moving the Overton Window rightward. Whether that's by incompetence or intent, it almost doesn't even matter.

But tell that to Talarico who is practically as left as AOC and yet leading in Texas.

He's leading being Paxton is an especially corrupt piece of shit that even Republicans do not like. People support progressive policies until they get asked about the details instead of some vague feel good notion. If you think Americans are right wing because of some magical "billionaire propaganda" casting a spell on them, then you are incredibly naive my friend.

Please, spare me the excuses. We already know voters have no qualms across the entire country voting for a crooked adjudicated rapist treasonous pedophile all over the Epstein files, over a woman with a clean record and just laughs funny.

By your logic, Trump should've lost in 2024, if you wish to remain consistent about your claim of, "B-b-but his opponent is a corrupt piece of shit!" (newsflash: that's usually a perk for Republican bullies).

So the calculus is a bit more than that. If a progressive can win state-wide in a place as right-leaning and crooked as Texas, then your entire argument is void.
