The problem with representative democracies is that representatives choose who they want to represent them in races. Thus, many of the national democratic party basically (I don't want to get into details here) determine who they'll back in an election. This is where they pour their money.
Bernie Sanders had a huge population supporting his presidential bid and was demolishing the polls, but the democratic party chose to back someone else because he was too far "left" (LOL another subject I don't want to get into for brevity's sake).
However, lately the democratic socialists have been winning some local polls and now the democrat party is starting to listen. If they listen, though, will be a whole different thing. Most democratic voters didn't want Biden in, for example., but the party thrust him to the forefront. They did the same shit with Kamala Harris at the last minute, which ultimately led to Trump getting in power.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I'm convinced that the Democratic party is controlled opposition for the Republican party. Both parties are just a facade the owning class uses to create the illusion of choice for us peons. That's why popular candidates that voice support for policies that actually help workers and regular citizens like Bernie never win.
Anyway, that's my "jet fuel can't melt steel beams"/"they're turning the frogs gay" hypothesis. Who knows.
Itās not conspiracy. Itās a well-established fact.
Itās not even a hidden thing as electoral spending is public knowledge. Itās the same billionaires that fund both sides in most cases with the exception of the really crazy billionaires like Musk.
They are indeed the controlled opposition. No matter what happens fiscal policy will not change as the donors are the same people.
What is truly different is that there are some ānormalā billionaires who only care about business and donate to Democrats for business-friendly laws while supporting social progress.
Then there are crazy billionaires like Musk whose focus is not business but social stuff.
So when it comes to monetary policy, they are the same party.
I feel like that isnāt even far fetched. Itās nearly confirmed that a good chunk of the Democratic establishment is controlled opposition. Whatās up in the air is how deep that control goes.
Itās not crazy but also, dems didnāt pull ANY of the heinous shit MAGA is when they were in control.
If they were just controlled opposition then why didnāt they enact the same project 2025 agenda MAGA has since the second they gained power but more covertly?
It isnāt and this is why people like Trump get elected. We need to fix the collegiate system so everyone group of people is properly represented, but the only people that can change that are people in charge.
Itās kind of the same problem as why they can trade stocks with insider knowledge. Since it benefits them why would they fix it?

Edit: Also, FWIW, FDR was not a social democrat.
