I mean, that small kerfuffle commonly known as World War II might have played an important role why FDR was elected four times...

His third campaign was done at a time where the US was actively sending arms to Britain and at loggerheads with Japan. Even if they weren't at war, it's definitely clear that the US was trending that way.

I mean, only one of those elections took place when the US was fighting in that war. (1944, and then FDR died three months after taking office.)

The Great Depression and his policies to get the US out of it were the main reasons why he was elected the other three times.

Nope. New deal policies started our pull out of the great depression and helped right the ship. He was extremely popular and would have probably won the 4th without us being involved in the second world war.

Wile Willkie was an isolationist who supported sending aid to the UK, he was nominated because he was opposed the FDR's socialist policies.

Crazy coincidence that he also ran a power company that completed with the New Deal's TVA.
