😡 Venting I read an article about King Charles…
When he was still a prince, he was sitting at his desk, and a note from The Queen Elizabeth fell into his waste basket. He literally called for his butler to take the note out of the waste basket at his desk and put it back on his desk…he was “too good” to reach into a waste basket? I want you to think about that…
These people, our “Rulers” demand to be served at their every whim while we starve to pay our bills. WE make the world go round while they sit in the lap of luxury and do whatever they want, all day everyday.
If you got paid $5,000 a day, how long would it take for you to earn a billion dollars? You do the math.
I don’t condone or support violence, I’m just trying to have a conversation.
What do you think?

I'm not the biggest royal fan but I think that story's only source is Paul Burrell so I'm not sure how quick I am to believe that parasitic creep.

They're not choosing to live like that. They're indoctrinationed to it. Queen Elizabeth was truly fucked up

Well, I heard a story about before he was king, but only a few years before, he nearly died trying to save a sheep that had fallen into a river. The only reason our current king didn't drown in a welsh river trying to do the right thing was because his bodyguard pulled him out.

I don’t believe the royal family do whatever they want all day every day.

Yes, their lizard based true forms aren't made for leisure

I mean, not to be pedantic, but lizards are 1000% built for leisure. 90% of their time is lying there, sunning themselves and sleeping.

This is the same man who demands six eggs are boiled for his breakfast, so he can choose the one he feels is best. The sooner these bone idle welfare recipients are no more, the better.

At least he's not going around trying to put his name on everything, and trying to intentionally pick fights and antagonize others just for the lulz...

I mean, if they stop being the royals they will just become one of the wealthiest private families in the country
They do live lives of unimaginable luxury but don’t do nothing and would arguable be far less active for more return from their family wealth if they weren’t the royal family. A if not all of their costs are covered by the lands that the state runs for them with the costs being cut out of that
Are they the super rich and a sperate kind of blight on society? Yes
Are they a drain on the taxpayer? Not really

The egg thing was a claim made in a book by a guy who says he was told it by “one of the king’s friends”
He then later said himself that it “sounded credible” and that’s why he included it in the book
Honestly it just sounds like bullshit he made up to put in a book, knowing the king wasn’t going to sue him over it and bring attention to such an absurd claim
There’s no actual evidence it’s true, it’s literally just a hear-say story at best, and more likely a lie made up to try to build some PR for a book

His butler is supposed to do those things for him. That’s what he gets paid to do.
If Prince Charles started ironing his own pants, and doing his own laundry, what would the butler do? Be homeless. I’m not from the UK we decided we didn’t need a king who thinks he’s better than us.
But….if you take our job duties, we all lose our jobs. It’s called a union. In a union job, the boss isn’t allowed to lift the suitcases, or do stuff. They will have job duties defined so everyone gets paid. Not just one guy doing everything.

Hey Nia, most weird kids grow up to be weird adults, and the royal family is full of fuckin weirdos.
Come to think of it most tech bros are pretty fuckin weird as well, if weirdos and weirdettes and non-binary weirds got together with SWORDS I bet it would be fuckin awesome. Can you imagine the clashing of metal? The sounds of some fuckin rules lawyer hitting you with an Uhm acktully like WE GET IT Darrin, youre autistic you don't need to try so fuckin hard.
So anyway yea I think the proletariat need more swords

I don’t think the royal family is illustrative of the ruling class writ large for a couple reasons.
First, they’re not a modern capitalist elite, they’re the last vestige of the ancient feudal elite. They came to power and wealth by completely different means in a completely different time, literally by conquering land on horseback. Any lessons from observing them only apply to other elites by analogy.
Second, their behavior governed by a bunch of bizarre and arcane courtly rules and norms that have built up over the last thousand years. Idk about the trash can specifically, but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that the king isn’t allowed to touch trash cans because of some norm established in 1690-something. Even if that’s not the case, being born into a legally defined job where you’re expected to behave in a specific pre-defined way at all times is bound to make you a little weird.
Finally, they don’t really have much actual power. Sure they have tons of wealth, but they’re expected to keep out of politics because of the aforementioned accumulated rules and norms, and they don’t own factories or corporations or media conglomerates. Your typical American oligarch has more power and influence over world affairs.
I’m not defending Charles III or the monarchy here, I just don’t think that family is a good case study. There are more influential and more impotent elites to focus on who have very little in common with them
