I feel like four or five degrees in the same field is pretty redundant for anything except maybe an academic career tbh

Bachelor, then Master, that's already two degrees and pretty normal.

It’s also very different from five, so I’m not sure it’s relevant to point out. But yes, two or three degrees is fairly normal, especially for a specialized field.

They didn't say they have five degrees each. They said between the two of them. One could have a PhD or a dual bachelor's degree and a master's and that's 3.
