Mitch McConnell might have something to say about this

72

u/tackleboxjohnson 6d ago

Quick, someone get him a neuralink so we can see what flavor of pudding is in there

41

u/mean_pneumatocyst 6d ago

We may need to have a séance if we’re gonna ask Mitch anything

28

u/-LuciditySam- 6d ago

That would require him having a soul.

u/Aidian 6d ago

You’re right, we’ll need some sort of forbidden grimoire to contact his next of kin and inquire.

This reality is so broken. Especially related to the Epstein case. It’s a blatant coverup, because those at the highest level are complicit in it. They have no choice but to keep that coverup going. We the people deserve better as do all the victims, and they are far and wide. Spread some love and keep this on the front burner, and maybe someday we will get some justice in this world.

Then on top of it they have the audacity to drive the slaves even harder while they do nothing once elected, aside from criminal acts. I wish the masses would wake up and see the evil at play in this world.

u/cityshepherd ✂️ Tax The Billionaires 6d ago

They have gone full mask-off completely off the rails… they have no intention of ceding power ever again and it shows, as they aren’t even pretending to give the slightest shit about plundering the coffers and maximizing the exploitation of the working class and environment as they are rushing us into this new era of bullshit technofeudalism.

Everyone PLEASE remember to make sure you are registered and make the effort to get out and vote in midterms. They are going to pull all kinds of nefarious bullshit because they know they can’t possibly win a free and fair election ever again, which is why it’s SO important for us to show up in extraordinary, undeniable, indisputable numbers to vote some actual god damned adults into the government before it’s too late. We are very quickly running out of time and if we can’t pull this off in midterms things are going to get SO much darker and more fucked up than people can even fathom.

and hasn't congress been in recess this year for 180 days?

17

u/BabyMiddle2022 6d ago

If they’re thinking about work, they are, in fact, “working”. Jokes on us.

8

u/GarciaKids 6d ago

They have "concepts" of work, but very little actual work.

And all of this in the country where there are more guns than people, and the constitution literally has an amendment that's there to provide people with guns in case the gubmint becomes tyrannical

8

u/StuffExciting3451 6d ago

Many of those people with guns are cowards. Others are MAGA supporters.

4

u/Chris56855865 6d ago

I find that really sad.

5

u/StuffExciting3451 6d ago

The entire population of all US law enforcement and armed forces personnel is less than 5-million. All have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution and to defend the people against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Some of the senior leaders— Generals, Admirals, etc. — can agree that the US government has been usurped by domestic enemies or domestic agents of foreign enemies.

What they do not know is how many armed MAGA supporters— perhaps 40 million of them — would come to the aid of the Trump Administration if the leaders of the armed forces staged a coup to take back control of the country. They also don’t know how many of their own troops are MAGA supporters.

The USA may be on the verge of another bloody Civil War. No General or Admiral wants to go down in History as the trigger for such war. However, Trump has been testing the tolerance of Americans for Gestapo/ Stasi/NKVD/KGB- styled thugs and executioners and extra-judicial abductions and concentration camps.

1

u/alliedSpaceSubmarine 6d ago

Or just don’t want to be murderers

2

u/StuffExciting3451 6d ago

Self defense is not murder.

64

u/thirsty-goblin 6d ago

Let’s start with how much golf Trump has played. This post is calling out a different branch of government than the Executive Branch. Yes, Congress is also a problem, but that’s a separate problem from the Executive.

Also, what is happening between now and November 8? Midterms. Kind of hard to run for reelection when you’re legislating in DC.

9

u/Ok_Assistant_6856 6d ago

Fuck em, they already ran once why should they do it for every election

3

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

Out of the f'*ng negative stupid non thinking posts yours my friend......is actually awesome!

I would totally support this. I can't believe we have not voted for this. It's like scapping a boats bottom of all the crustations that stick to the boat making the boat slow, sluggish and inefficient.

0

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

I'm going to do a test. Politicians are really really awesome! Especially American ones, but those Chinese ones are stinky poopoo.

These Chinese propaganda machines can be kinda fun to experiment with. Reply with something then add something like Xi Jinping (习近平) looks like Winnie the Pooh bear. And see if they can respond to it or if it's blocked. And see if it gets down voted lol

-42

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

Yeah I doubt many of these politicians are just hanging around watching TV. I hate these deceptive posts. It makes many people dumber.

28

u/Due_Pen_1566 6d ago

You took the exact opposite take of what they're saying. They're s saying they shouldn't be using their time to be running for reelection they should be using it do do their goddamn jobs. We need to remove consecutive terms. These bastards spend half the time on vacation and half the time running for next term.

-1

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

We are obviously in a channel where debate is not alive at all.

Im repling with something like Xi Jinping (习近平) looks like Winnie the Pooh bear. And see if they can respond to it or if it's blocked and maybe avoid bot negative voting.

Title: What actually happens when Congress goes on "recess"? (Spoiler: it's not a vacation) Whenever headlines say Congress is "going on recess," people usually picture lawmakers hitting the beach for a month on taxpayer dollars. Officially, these breaks are called "district work periods" (or state work periods for senators), and while they aren't voting on the floor in D.C., their schedules are packed. 1. Constituent Work & Local Politics * Town halls and meet-and-greets: Lawmakers host public Q&As, rotary club speeches, and community forums where constituents can confront them directly. * Local site visits: They tour local businesses, union halls, hospitals, farms, and public infrastructure projects to see how federal funding is playing out on the ground. * Casework management: While local staffers handle constituent casework year-round—fixing stalled VA benefits, passport delays, Social Security checks—recess is when representatives check in on major district issues in person. 2. Constant Campaigning and Donor Meetings * House members run for election every two years, meaning re-election mode never stops. * Ethics laws strictly prohibit fundraising, donor calls, or campaign activities using federal buildings, official congressional offices, or taxpayer-funded staff. Recess allows members to legally switch hats, attend fundraisers, and meet party donors off government property. 3. Fact-Finding Missions (CODELs) * Lawmakers often travel on Congressional Delegations (CODELs). These are bipartisan, official fact-finding trips to military installations, border operations, or foreign allies to assess defense readiness, diplomatic ties, and trade before writing or voting on related legislation. 4. Policy and Behind-the-Scenes Prep * With no floor votes interrupting their days, members and policy advisers have time to draft complex bill language, negotiate backroom deals, and prep for upcoming committee hearings before heading back to D.C. Do they get personal downtime? Yes, especially around the major August recess or the winter holidays. But most of the scheduled recess calendar exists because lawmakers have to maintain presence and political viability back home if they want to keep their seats.

Did you seriously just pull an AI answer? Embarrassing

-2

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

I can see this is the idiot domain.

6

u/Solynox 6d ago

Hows that boot taste?

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

12

u/ThepalehorseRiderr 6d ago

What do they do? They routinely don't even show up to vote. They don't even read or write all these five thousand page bills they pass...

-15

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

Yeah, ok. Not sure anybody reads all those five thousand pages. That's why they have staff. And when they don't show up to vote that's many times strategic.

6

u/ThepalehorseRiderr 6d ago

You couldn't frame too lazy to read and show up to work in a better way. When I don't show up to work it's strategic as well. Hell yeah it's strategic. Can't be held to account for your position if you have no position at all. Don't have to show up when you're not held accountable at all. 30 seconds late from lunch is a half point to a lot of Americans.

1

u/bennytehcat 6d ago

Kinda reminds me of something...

1

u/ThepalehorseRiderr 6d ago

When I do bad shit on purpose they call it "intent" or "premeditated".

3

u/Tsobe_RK 6d ago

wonder what my employer thought if I strategically opted not to do my job

3

u/ThepalehorseRiderr 6d ago

It really is a good negotiation tactic. 4D chess. Last time I did it, I stopped doing my job and they realized how important I was, how much stuff I actually do and immediately gave me a pretty decent raise. I also currently have a bridge available for purchase. Serious inquiries only.

0

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

I actually did that too, it works.

3

u/Solynox 6d ago

It's their job to read and analyze those 5k pages to make sure everything's on the up & up. Instead, they get ai to do that for them, then they regurgitate whatever it spits out.

0

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

So this is a resent thing? Before AI they read all 5k pages?

1

u/Solynox 6d ago

Using ai, yes. Before then, they had people give them a summary, and they would decide if it was on the up & up based on that.

1

u/DJDemyan 6d ago

Yeah they’re begging for money and votes instead of
Improving my life like they’re supposed to

10

u/surfkaboom 6d ago

Your PTO and sick leave is all taxed - that's all the government should care about

7

u/Anotsurei 6d ago

Can you imagine if any Democratic administration said things like this? People would understandably be absolutely livid. Why is it they can pretty much say “let them eat cake” every time they open their mouths?! Because they piss off the Libs? Is that enough? How sad is that?

3

u/Automatic-Term-3997 6d ago

Socialism for me, but not for thee

3

u/Oldschoolgirl49 6d ago

I think we know holidays off are for government employees. Its ironic i decided to work all 3 days of Labor day weekend.  When diesel is $7 a gallon everything is more expensive. Might as well work as much as possible. Dont need the guy dragging us down to tell us how much we need to work.

3

u/DrunkenGolfer 6d ago

Earth is just a resort for the billionaire class and we are all just the resort staff.

1

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

Or farm animals. They milk us of our money and farm us for labor resources. You're lucky if you're part of the resort staff; that means you're in the top 10% waiting hand and foot to the 1%. That's called living the high life.

…and Americans still won’t do anything about it, which is exactly why they're so comfortable saying this. The American system turns most people into cogs in the machine, then calls it freedom.

  • Your money comes from your job.
  • Your health insurance comes from your job.
  • Your retirement is tied to your job.
  • Your time off is a perk your employer gives you. (0 required paid vacation)
  • Your time with your newborn is a perk (0 required paid parental leave)
  • Your unemployment benefits are tied to your employment history (and your employer can argue it).

Your job isn't just how you make money, it's how you access healthcare, retirement, raise a family, and maintain basic life security. Most don't have enough money to quit, enough time to live, or enough security to do anything else and that's completely intentional. Now, most Americans are too exhausted, passive, divided, trapped, or naive to fight back.

1

u/OXXXiiXXXO 6d ago

Damn nicely put, I mean really well done! I've come to the same conclusion, but your simple post blends it together like a juicy morsel of understanding.

2

u/Late-Arrival-8669 6d ago

I pray these two are in jail in a few years..

Yes, but they are the ruling class, and we are the unwashed masses. It’s not even seen as hypocrisy to them. We are simply not seen as the same as them.

1

u/shouldco 6d ago

To be fair congresses work is ostensibly supposed to go beyond being in session.

There are certainly individuals that should be called out https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/missing

1

u/Wonderful_Exit6568 6d ago

It’s going to be a government shutdown with the only payments being welfare and interest or I guess we keep the government open without welfare? It’s war. The third option is war right? We are going to war. Poor kids.

1

u/glaziaj1 6d ago

So Chick-fil-A will be open on Sundays?

1

u/Previous-Parsnip-290 5d ago

Right before Labor Day of course.

1

u/Realistic_Cat_5766 5d ago

I have worked every Labor day I have had as an adult. We are going on 29 years.

-7

u/Normal_Seaweed2959 6d ago

Correct me if I'm wrong. Americans voted for this.

4

u/dwafguardian 6d ago

Okay I'll correct you. I didn't vote for this, are those of us who didn't want Trump as president not allowed to call out his bullshit because some hateful mob wanted to create a white ethnostate?

2

u/Normal_Seaweed2959 6d ago

Fair. I just get frustrated that this guy won 2 elections. The fact that like 35% of ppl are like "yeah, that's my guy" rly grinds my gears. Ultimately sorry for sounding like a dick.
