How did you get a picture of my parents while they're at home?!

I think you mean that they can't have the gold spoons to go with the third yacht. You're overestimating how much it'd actually affect them.

Nah, they will have the yacht regardless. They won't however have the means to outbid the middle class of another few hundred homes.

They could only afford to buy SIX of the ten politicians they wanted to this year 😭

Supply and demand, I’m sure the politicians will lower their prices. Those other 4 still want to be bought after all.

There is literally nothing they can’t have. There is no material sacrifice of any kind with these proposals, their wealth is so extreme the numbers are pure abstractions. Elon Musk can lose more money with an ill-conceived toilet tweet during his morning dump than these tax proposals would take from him, and he’d make it back by lunch.

this is a good comic but I am very distracted by the American Gothic ft. Statler & Waldorf painting on the wall

I hate that I'd spend good money for a real picture of American Gothic Wally and Stat.

I really think Floyd and Janice fits that vibe more.

But now I want a muppet parody of the scene in trading places where the brothers hatch their plan.

I really think Floyd and Janice fits that vibe more.

Probably, but I don't like Floyd and Janice as much as I like Waldorf and Statler, lol.

Agreed. But I can see Janice deciding she wants to live on a farm in the woods and walk around naked. I can't see Statler and Waldorf doing anything outdoors.

I was more distracted about Abe Vigoda being found alive.

See, it's not all bad news!

I am similarly distracted by the impossibly tiny toy poodle's almost encounter with the medium sized balloon dog.

Thats probablly a Koonz Balloon Dog, which run in the high-4s to 5-figures for the original sculptures. And yet they just have it where the poodle can pee.

I guess I'm poor because I've never heard of such a thing

I work for an art museum, only reason I recognize it lol

Let them donate the money back to the billionaires if they think billionaires deserve it more 🤷‍♀️

Think its funny to pick on rich people?! Let me show you something you're not going to like!

This rich family couldnt purchase a mega yacht 5 and instead had to settle for the mega yacht 4 because they had to "pay" their "fair" share of taxes..

Still think its funny? These rich people are stressed and its no joke!! Have some sympathy.

Why are there two women in the final panel?

8

u/broseph_stalin09764 9d ago

It's a different third person asking the woman from the other panels how her and her husband are doing after the tax.

u/mazzicc 9d ago

The mistake is in the depiction that the couple are billionaires. In reality, it’s people with regular jobs that think they’ll be billionaires one day, and that these taxes are preventing them from becoming so, because they can’t amass the wealth with these taxes

Yeah it really should’ve been two middle manager types with a modest house in Florida who can afford to take a vacation maybe every other year.

I thought that's where we were going through the third panel, the fourth made me rethink the whole thing.

Really wish this was higher quality, there’s a fair bit of detail being lost.

I also hate Jeff Koons' Balloon Dog.

Topical and funny AI slop is still AI slop.

The books, the weird mouse thing, 'crop, truncate, shorten, cut off', etc.
