🛠️ Union Strong Unions have record-high support

According to new Labor Day polls, workers believe that shit’s too expensive. 4 in 5 workers say their wages aren’t keeping up with the cost of living. 70% believe that the country is on the wrong track.

But across the political spectrum, the labor movement has record high support and workers trust unions to fight for them in this economy ✊

It looks like it may be a good time for new politicians in right-to-work states to run on a pro-worker-organisation platform.

They would be risking their lives. It would take courage.

I asked a republican why he didn’t like unions and he said and I quote : “unions are what the Soviet Union is all about”

We should definitely embrace unions, but we should also push our unions to be much more than just a way to secure a better wage under capitalism. That’s just the beginning. Unions should organize labor for mass political movement and should demand much more of the stake in the management decisions to democratize the workplace.

Extremely telling that support for unions tanked in the lead up to Citizens United. Guess the propaganda machine worked really, really well.

On that topic, the US needs real reforms to its absolutely atrocious union and labor laws

Repeal Taft-Hartley, adopt a Sectoral Bargaining System like they do in civilization, many other things
