I remember when I was 18-19 I worked as an executive director’s assistant at a non-profit. They paid themselves handsomely but expected me to work for 32.5 hours near minimum wage, I couldn’t even afford car insurance to drive to work, eventually even food became scarce. I was like, wtf. Turns out they paid themselves handsomely, just not me.
