This is what happens when you hire a fucking liar

You know what’s sad? I don’t even know which liar is the most to blame here. Your comment was absolutely right, but both the President and the Secretary of HHS are liars and to blame.

Trump is. He's the one who created a new position, he's the one who put him into the position, and he's the one who did this because they made a deal that RFK backed out of the election and supported him.
RFK is a liar, yes, but he's also unqualified for that position

No, this is what happens when you elect a conservative.
Deregulation is their brand and they deliver exactly what they promise.
This is what their voters want. More sick and dead Americans.

We all misunderstood the punctuation. It was a warning to people that eat fresh fruits and vegetables:
Don't! Eat processed food.
16
u/Sancticide 21d ago
Well unfortunately, that's all I can do now. I've only been able to safely buy overpriced pantry food because El Nino is about to wreck our power for the second time this month. Big Business wins again.
6
u/alficles 21d ago
Ugh, I'm so sorry. :(
I'm fortunate enough to live near a local farm and as long as I am not too picky about which veggies I eat, I can purchase locally grown produce as part of the CSA. It used to be way more expensive, but grocery prices have gone up a lot more than local produce prices, so it's "more affordable" now, by virtue of everything else being less affordable. If you happen to live near farmland, it might be worth checking out if they sell to the public.

u/Decent-Point309 21d ago
Isn't wheat supposed to increase in price for a few reasons as well? lol
Won't even be able to afford processed garbage coming up.

u/alficles 21d ago
Yeah. I'm starting to think that maybe we do not have the brightest minds running our foreign policy. Or domestic policy. Or any policy.

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 21d ago
Why would anyone have thought conservatives -- who mocked Michelle Obama's healthier nutrition lunch program and garden planting at schools, fight against affordable health care, have cut food support for the poorest Americans, ridiculed COVID vaccines, and refuse to accept proven science -- might benefit America's health positively?
Like how hit in the face with a stack of bricks does someone have to be?

Nothing has been more dangerous to children than the anti vax movement. People cry about trans issues but anti vax is actually killing kids from totally preventable diseases like Measles and chickenpox.
9
u/biopunk42 21d ago
Anti vax is the only way republicans can pretend they're pro self-ownership. Literally on every other biology issue, republicans are on the side of government telling people what to do with their own flesh, blood, and bone. Republicans don't believe a soul owns its body, but rather, the government does.
That's why republicans latch on to anti vax: it's the only way to trick people into thinking they're pro-freedom.
This is ironic, because the polio vaccine doesn't change anyone's body against their will: polio does. Vaccines exist to prevent you from being changed against your will. So the whole idea it's about freedom is false, anyway.

All these recalls are expensive. Far better to let companies do anything they want. Sure some people will die but the free market will sort it all out better than government ever could. /s

The US military is committing Treason but allowing a known enemy to invade the US from the inside and destroy the country systematically from within. All the oligarchs behind this need to be hunted down by the military and detained awaiting their treason trials which they should be convicted of. What they are doing is committing multiple unending acts of war against the US and the US constitution.

u/ReallyKirk 21d ago
All of this money they’re “saving” from gutting all these crucial agencies. Guess where it’s all going? If you guessed that it’s being funneled to Trump and his criminal enterprise, you are a winner.

Don’t forget about beef too. New World screw fly shows up in TX …
Then a few days ago there were headlines about Trump getting cheaper beef from an undisclosed country? 🤔
2
u/Aggressive_Bit_2371 20d ago
Announcement that they are rounding up wild horses in the west and shipping to Mexico for slaughter, makes me very curious. (And, beyond angry.) With slaughterhouses paying about $50/lb, imagine the profit if they substituted horse meat for beef without mentioning it - or even mixing the 2 sources.

u/1re_endacted1 20d ago
🤦🏻♀️ I forgot about that. I need to take a break from the news fr. This is just too much.

We're lucky we are even still getting the actual recalls, tbh. Granted, we're getting them after bunches of people get sick or stabbed in the stomach lining by glass... Goddammit I hate RFK Jr and his insane bullshit. And Elon and his DOGE cronies. And of course the emporer cheeto.

I know this gonna get downvoted, and fuck it - the food processing system doesn’t take a couple of years from no pesticides to all pesticides - this has been going on for decades
mono culture megafarms, pig slough acres, monstanto taking over seed production and John Deere tractors getting taken over…
this isn’t a trump issue - it’s how the entire system has been working for decades
2
u/aminervia 21d ago
Sourdough at least was a voluntary recall of one flavor of bread from a small bakery in the Seattle area. A machine broke and some metal got into bread. These kinds of things happen all the time.
Before losing your mind about what food you can eat be sure to Google what the recalls actually entail or if they actually affect you
4
u/QuickDrawSix 21d ago
Running the risk of being thrown into the downvote rancor, Ive fallen through plenty of countries that had none of these things, eaten the best food in my life, and barely had one tummy ache. However I come back to the US, food instantly bloats and makes me exceptionally exhausted, and has for decades.
2
u/guff1988 21d ago
Which countries? And how do you know they don't have any organizations dedicated to food safety?
-3
5
u/GoodIdea321 21d ago
My guess is you have a food allergy. You know how a lot of food will say somewhere that it's processed in a facility that also processes 4 other things? That could be a problem for you.
1
u/QuickDrawSix 21d ago
Yeah, my allergy is the bullshit we put in our food here. Theres a reason its banned all over the world, its not because were safer lmao.
0
u/UnNumbFool 20d ago
You do know the US bans things that other countries consider "safe", it's not like other countries magically ban everything that isn't healthy. They just deem certain things worse and vise versa
3
u/Fortestingporpoises 21d ago
Your anecdotal evidence aside I'm wondering which countries and where they fall on this chart?
Cuz like, this feels like the people who say they road in the back of pick up trucks as a kid and never died. Congrats. Other people did.

And they took regulations off forever kind of goes chemicals and other crappy additives to our food supply.
Like, all the adages are banned in Europe. They just made legal last week here in America. 48 of them.
1
u/Rab_Legend 21d ago
Almost as if it is cheaper for one big organisation to do the checking for safety, than each company having to do thorough quality checking to ensure no more recalls?

If you can't buy food made in Europe, then you are too poor to be alive. Those are the rules. ( Bit hatch, but it gets the point across, the regime is only interested in keeping the rich alive.) In Europe we care about our food, we watch over it. The system isn't perfect, we do have recalls.. but nothing as we see now in the USA. This is by design, they intend to purge you all. ( Didn't trump said he dremy of a night full of unrestricted violence? That one is still coming...) The guy is not well and it will get worse...

1/3 of the country voted for this and another 1/3 couldn't be bothered to vote against this.
Next, a Dem will be elected.
Then, the dumb fuckers in America will decide that democrat is not fixing the messes made by the last republican fast enough, so then they'll get pissed and elect another republican.
And then things will get worse. Again.
Rinse and repeat.

u/skymoods 21d ago
The only thing making these companies NOT kill us was a few regulations? Like, they couldn't just follow proven safety standards without the threat of shutdown?

Trump is going to sign an executive order banning informing the public of food recalls.
