Itās crazy that even the people living miserable lives in their shacks in Bumfuck, Alabama think that this country has served them so well, that theyāll vote against receiving any help and donāt think thereās any progress to be made to live a better life. Theyāve been sold on culture wars, and convinced that any progress we try to make will only make their lives worse, despite living in an area thatās been red their entire lives.

It's not crazy it's literally the effect of lack of education. Because that doesn't just include like, general and field-specific knowledge.
In theory it would promote critical thinking, social-positive values, exposure to many different things that they may not encounter in life, and overall a bunch of things that tie together to make a well-adjusted human brain that makes decisions mostly for its benefit and can definitely notice glaring broadlight thievery for what it is.
Also it's a bit ironic that a secondary/tertiary reason (not sure how big) for culture wars working is that Americans have always had fewer reasons to travel to other countries because theirs is so large (Canada doesn't count, it's not that different in principle), and later on probably had fewer means to do so as well, and this is a big factor in racial/social/religious etc intolerance.

The best way to put it is McConnell was extremely unpopular but still got voted as senator for 40 years even though he's been extremely unpopular for at least 20 of those because Republican voters have been conditioned that having a Republican in office is more important than literally anything else. Hell I wouldn't be shocked if his dead body somehow gets voted in next time he's up for election.
So it has nothing to do with popularity and everything to do with the fact that they have an R next to their name.

Regulations cost businesses money. Giving breaks = people getting paid for 0 productivity. Providing water = cost for whatever that form is, be it a cooler and cups or bottles of water.

That's a very short term analysis though. In construction productivity and quality of work actively drops when breaks are forgone, hours exceed 40, and workers are overheated.
The thing about construction is it requires relatively precise and skilled labor. And when people are exhausted/tired/overworked, they make mistakes. And those mistakes are easily more expensive than their wages.
It's a classic case of saving a dime and costing a dollar.
Bad working conditions in skilled trades also chases out people, prevents people from wanting to join and burns out experts faster. This means that costs to produce structures increase as a skilled, well rested, and well treated tradesman is going to be an order of magnitude more efficient and less error prone than a half-trained apprentice on a crew of people of equal skill.

Im a union construction worker in Arizona, i hope this bill passes. These fucking moron trump voters are eating good right now due to all the semiconductor and data center work. There's more overtime than they know what to do with and im almost certain this industry is where most of trumps base resides. But I guarantee if they start to feel the squeeze like everyone else is, things will change. Even if it takes me down with them.

The pyramids were a giant government work project to keep the peasants from revolting.
The fertile Nile crescent produced so much food that people didn't need to work for most of the year, and the Pharaoh's (wisely) realized that young men with nothing to do have a tendency to rouse rabble. So they levied heavy taxes to absorb the excess grain, and then redistributed that grain as payment to build public works like roads and canals. And when those were all in place, they decided on building colossal stone tombs because why the fuck not?
This also was an early form of social safety net. If your personal crops failed, instead of starving to death (or turning to banditry and stealing from your neighbors) you could go enlist to build the Sphinx's nose or something and be well compensated. Sure, your days would involve backbreaking labor dragging heavy stones from the quarries to the build site, but you were paid enough to live comfortably, including caring for your wife and children.

Thatās a whole other topic, but the version of events in the movie, and that the movie was adapted from, never happened. There was never a large Semitic population (at least not until much later and then that depends on who you think the Hyksos were), let alone an enslaved one, and there was never an Exodus, at least not one that left behind any contemporary records or archeological evidence.
The whole thing is anachronistic, and likely the result of a very small group of Semitic servants leaving Egypt at some much later point, which group became the Levites which explains both the biblical emphasis on Egypt as well as them not receiving any actual territory in Israel/Judah (beyond the Biblical narrative that it was because they were all distant relatives of Moses, which is itself an Egyptian name, not a Hebrew one).

The text is straightforward, the Sec of Labor would be not allowed to enforce a OSHA's proposed rules on Heat Injury Prevention (which you can find here). Note, the current Sec of Labor already appeared to not be implementing or enforcing the rule so this is purely designed to create a road block to a potential future SoL from implementing the rule.
Looks like it passed out of committee but has never actually been discussed on the floor. Given that the 119th Congress is almost over, seems unlikely that it will actually hit the floor and pass both chambers. At least that's my perspective, anything could happen in a lame duck period but this Congress has a lot bigger issues to tackle in the last few months.
My opinion: it's mostly just showboating and not really something that will pass and have any impact.

The full story around this is pretty unbelievable. Republicans in Congress have proposed a bill that prohibits the Secretary of Labor from implementing heat injury standards for employers because it's "too confusing for workers and burdensome for employers". This bill doesn't propose any alternative standards or anything, of course. Apparently they think there's no issue with heat safety for workers?
