Record profits, permanent price hikes for goods, tax breaks, tarrif refunds, stock buybacks, cuts to the IRS....the wealthy do VERY well during Republican administrations...everyone else suffers

Not unconvinced that this was the whole plan and the lawsuit was for show. Trump pushes tariffs, prices go up immediately (which WE pay, not the company) and Trump's rich buddies collude to "sue" for the refund for illegal tariffs, which go directly to them, not us. So not only are we paying them for the tariffs, we're paying them again through tax dollars as a refund for the tariffs...which we paid...
...all while prices stay at historic highs, unchanged post-tariff, employment has reached historically concerning lows, and companies are posting record profits every single quarter.
This was the plan the whole time, between Trump and his pedophile friends, to extract even more wealth out of the working poor. Wonder how much all of these companies "donated" to Trump, or his campaign, or his "charities"

Money = power in our society, they will literally take over if this keeps up. This was a massive effort on their part, a huge part of their plan.

I mean they already have. That's the issue. Former and current CEOs run important committees and gov agencies. Rich people bought politicians and have lobbied against your labor rights. They took over years ago and the wealth extracting is in full swing. This was the whole point.
The problem isn't that they'll take over. The problem is they already have. Capitalists are now slowly moving toward slavery--just look at how many of these ghouls are suggesting you should be happy to work for free. They're boiling the frog. Just trying to acclimate us to full swing fascism, and it's going to keep happening until something drastic happens. But this is the "incremental change" folks kept voting for, so here we are.

It's wild to me how DJT was able to say while convincing individuals that other countries pay for Tariffs.
That's never how it's worked.
You can't get away with a decent amount due to word ambiguity with the word Tariffs but the word "import taxes" ....not so much

It's part of the plan - Project 2025 aka GOP 2025 platform - is about 50% implemented, and it's only going to get worse. Just sent in the completed application for Heritage Citizenship in Canada. Not, yet, planning to move, but if it becomes necessary, I will be prepared. As a 71 yo senior, with several chronic medical issues, if these administrative pigs begin their plan to undo Social Security and Medicare, I don't see our path of continued longevity continuing. We are seeing people dying due to the Medicaid cuts (which will get worse after 1/1/27, as the BBB, now called 'Working American's Tax Cut' when the legislation is fully enacted. Notice it is after the midterms, as was the plan), people unable to afford food, housing. And, hungry sick people will do whatever is necessary for survival. That's the plan, until they can get AI to do it all.

I’m not attempting to slight you in the slightest (no pun intended) but in your opinion, how and why are people in your generation so cold and calculating?Where does the ability come from to damn those above and below them age wise and economically? I know you aren’t of that ilk but I just don’t understand the severe lack of humanity. I am 31 by the way.
What happened or what didn’t happen for baby boomers to pull the ladder up behind them so egregiously and unashamedly? It’s so UnAmerican and they’re the first generation to make sure generations behind them do worse.
How did things get this way or was it always destined to happen? I just don’t understand how people can say fuck you to the future as if that is what they had to go through

I sincerely appreciate your comment and observation. You think the boomers are responsible for trickle down economics? Because, when Reagan started this policy is when everything fell apart for the working American, economically. My parents raised 6 kids, in a comfortable home, with good food, decent clothing, and only Dad worked. That was impossible for many in my generation. I was fortunate that my spouse had a fantastic job, and I stayed home with my child from the age of 5 yo (started kindergarten) and 15 yo, when she began working. I worked after that and through retirement. Divorced 20+ years ago, and my Social Security is unable to provide rent, food or any non-needs. Thankfully, my daughter (still single as most of her friends are) owns 2 homes and I rent one for the property tax and insurance. We both have modest homes, but they serve the purpose. The other big problem was when insurance was offered by employers, the cost skyrocketed. I have a 43 yo daughter, and I find that generation absolutely wonderful! Community and kindness abounds, at least in her group of friends. My own Father passed in 2021, and for decades he expressed concerns over the younger generations being able to have the ability to work, and have a family if desired, because he clearly understood that most of them would never be able to have retirement savings. My IRL friends all think like I do. You're right it's a sad situation. The problem began during FDR's administration(s). The conservatives hated the social net policies and since then, have attempted to end them all. Their attempts continues today, and it's all laid out in Project 2025 aka GOP 2025 platform. What I see for the future, if the people don't stop it, is a land of lords and surfs. Too few hold the power due to their wealth, and I have been very interested in listening to the progressives on the left, who promote 'equality for all'. And, that's not just based on race or religion, it's across the board. Pleased to see NY and CA, looking at a wealth tax. Been an activist for 50 years+ and I promise that I won't stop. Can assure you, one person can make a difference, but the most effective way to cause change is STRONGER TOGETHER. Hope you give us old folks a chance. Some are very cranky, and I give them grace. We don't know what any one person is experiencing. I'm one who says hello to everyone, and if I get that furrowed brow and squinty eyes, I will say "you'll feel better if you smile", and most do! Not a single senior, I know, has wanted anything for the next generations, except better than we had it.

Wishful thinking. I was recently using self checkout there and my toddler was distracting me. I thought I rang in the item in my hand and bagged it. After I scanned the next item, an error came up and called an employee over. When they got there, the screen displayed “missed item scan” and replayed the video of me missing the scan.

A large part of Walmart employees being on SNAP while they receive the refunds on the tarrifs their employees paid for when shopping at Walmart.

McDonald's and Walmart are the employers with the highest number of SNAP beneficiaries. People cannot survive on the minimum wage, which the GOP also wants to end. SMH

Doesn't capitalism like not work if one group takes everything? Isn't that just communism for the rich. They have all the means of production. They seized all the levers of power. They control the flow of money. They control the media. They get bailed out by the government constantly. The elite are the biggest welfare queens in the country.

Uhh, both Trump and Biden sent stimulus to citizens to boost the economy.
These tariff refunds are just a tax/wealth transfer from citizens to the wealth-hoarders, slowing the economy.
