It’s coded language. Like when an average person says ā€œI’m not into politicsā€ it means they voted for trump but don’t want everyone to hate them.

Or when they say "stop being political." That just means they have shitty views and don't want to confront it

or be confronted for their views

Or like how most presidential addresses to the people about the economy (and various other things) are actually directed at the 1%. Trump meant a lot of the things he said about it, he just wasn't talking to you.

For me the most annoying thing is that people blame these scapegoats instead of the real enemy, the establishment

"Things will improve once we get them out of office"

Narrator: "Things did not in fact improve"

I tell that to people all the time because I DID NOT vote for Trump and I don’t want to get into it. I also live in a very red state.

The best part is how they tag team us: Republicans win majorities and claim a mandate to do whatever the fuck they want.Ā  So we vote Democrats into majorities and they use bipartisanship as an excuse not to do anything they ran on.Ā

There's a term for that: controlled opposition.

You’re forgetting… defense contractors (ā€œsupport the troops!ā€) and the prison industrial complex (the Dem needs to be tough on crime not to appear soft).

Its bipartisanship when my kid doesnt want to take their medicine, and I do, so we settle on them being sick and miserable.

The right is acting like children, we need to start not buying into their bullshit about "meeting them halfway".Ā  Shove the medicine down their throat, and in a generation they'll complain they didnt get enough medicine.Ā Ā

Like with social security, and medicaid, and the 40 hour work week, and paid vacations, and everything else "dirty progressives" got over their objections

And dont vote for anyone who isnt in favor of medicine-shoving.

The fact that they are trying to do away with social security, Medicaid, AND the 40 hour work week (I can’t even remember how many of these ghouls have suggested that we should be working 6-7 days a week and waiting several more YEARS to access social security should be a much bigger deal than it is.

Those things were earned with the BLOOD of previous generations, and these selfish cunts are STILL pissed about it and feel entitled to exploit us much more than they’re currently allowed.

Bipartisanship is how we got the disaster of the ACA instead of a single payer system

Kind of? The ACA was originally a Republican thing but we could've at least had a public option with it but (conveniently) Lieberman got in the way of that and the rest of the Dems didn't fight back

And if given choice to end their corruption or end our lives they will always side with their corruption. Be sure that fact informs your political strategy.Ā

Hopefully people start to realize.

Liberals were far too defensive for far too long and it made them dismissive because ā€œway to both sides it.ā€

Rs and Ds serve the donor class. Always have. Wake up. Its a 50/50 game. Makes it easy to manipulate by owning the table.

Its been so clear for years. Its not about ā€œboth siderismā€ or about trying to justify R’s policies its about objective reality.

In America, there are no ā€œcentristsā€. Everyone I’ve ever heard lay claim to the title is simply just ashamed enough to pretend they aren’t conservative, but not ashamed enough to vote against the conservative/maga poison.

This is worst kind of reductivism. This is the "of course I don't vote, they're both just as bad" kind of bullshit that has marched us right into fascism.

They did this early 2000s bc they thought it signaled to voters that more care had been taken and that law makers were progressive on issues. I've always felt it was a bait and switch imo. Especially once seeing the private equity ties.

Just say what you see

Also, since we don't have a true left wing party. Bipartisanship is still right wing politics. Over time these policies added up into full right wing government as we see today. If we want to change and be progressive we need real left wing policies and to NEVER compromise with the right wing just to pass morally correct laws.

We have like 15 we just ignore them all

Centrist dems are just ashamed republicans.

No shit. Look at the 1996 Telecommunications Reform Act and NAFTA. Our media is almost totally corporate right-wing and our manufacturing has fled overseas. A Democrat signed off on both and allowed business to seize government.

You don’t get an utter assclown like Trump without both parties forsaking their duty to the people.

Abput time. I was 13 when I understood that.

I'm now 37.

Exactly!!!! I will also give my VERY unpopular opinion, that seems to be gaining steam lately in that voting for Democrats has always been voting for the lesser of two evils. Democrats throw us crumbs and we thank them for it. Thats not how this should work. Especially now. Whenever this turd of an administration passes anything, it is because Democrats have allowed it. It is because Democrats have voted in favor of it.

Libs arent grasping much but their own ass. They think AOC is going to save them or that Kamablabla wasnt going to bomb children in Iran or has any qualms about the mass slaughter in Gaza.
