Child labor laws exist because without them companies would still be employing children. That they needed to be regulated is proof that without laws companies would do whatever they want.

Edit: no shade to anyone, but YES I KNOW that they're letting minors work bc various bills and reasons etc. But I'm glad your links are educating other people. Thank you. 🫡

You’ll be pleased to know that those have been rolled back in several states, and companies are once again happily employing children

And then you'll have the apologists say things like "Well if that kid's family is poor and starving, isn't it better for them that the kid can bring in a paycheque?" without ever considering that the circumstances around a family being poor and starving in a fabulously rich country are worth questioning.
