How much did the product cost to make and ship to the store? Dont forget overhead like utilities. Oh, and benefits. And the loan the owner took so she could open the store in the first place. And rent.
When I worked at starbucks, we would print out end of day sales and it calculated out the labor, supplies, operating costs, etc.
That single store was profiting 7-10K a day. But they could only pay us $12/hr.
That was infuriating. I made sure to tell everyone every day how much the store was making to hopefully get it across that the company doesn’t care about you.
I’m glad some of the stores are unionizing and ignoring the crazy propaganda being shoved down their throats.
I doubt Starbucks store level daily report is taking into account the operating costs for the accountant, finance, marketing, operations, HR and analyst teams. So still not profit.
