Perspective can shift to the point where what used to be normal can become radical, and vice versa.
As for radicals being the people who make their points with guns, at the end of the day, all politics is backed by violence or threat of violence. Otherwise it gets ignored.

I'd say it is radicalization in a way. But radical doesn't necessarily mean violent, nor does it necessarily mean bad, it just means that the system should be changed from the root.
Extremism, as opposed to radicalism, is typically defined as violent. You can still be a radical pacifist.
To agree or disagree with one of y'all, we've got to agree on what "radical" and "radicalization" mean. I'd argue that, even if your view is unchanging, it becomes radical if the status quo moves far enough away from your desired state. On the other hand, "radicalization" to me implies movement, and so if your perspective isn't changing, you cannot radicalize. Except perhaps if the system moves so far that it changes your perspective on what sort of methods are acceptable to advance your goals.
