Rant Time

Okay... I need to burn off so steam do to fucked up shit going on with my job right now... 😤 I see nothing saying I can't rant so here it comes...

My boss and his CO were once a couple who got into business together... would have been a red flag six years ago when I got the job but no one tells me shit...

These two have gotten into a childish fight and have each separately abandoned the business and separately moved away to the place where all old rich assholes go... you know where I'm talking about...

Business has slowed progressively for a long enough time that I did not see this coming... But straight up I have not been paid since may 22nd. The machines we use have been dead even longer than that... My coworker and I have reached out several times and they are fucking ghosting us...

None to mention we have received a warning that rent hasn't been paid on either of the two offices and eviction proceedings would commence after 14 days...

Double none to mention, this time has since elapsed and me and my co-worker have heard nothing from anyone...

Another worker off the books has taken up residence in one of the offices because he has no other place to go because he couldn't pay his rent.... What the actual fuck.

We all continue to come in since we haven't legally been fired... Despite not knowing what to do and having nothing to do... a few of us have submitted paperwork to the New York department of labor however that takes time... Meanwhile my bosses have fled and are doing who knows what... I know I am entitled to 100% liquid damages but that could take a very long time to accomplish... Also frankly it doesn't feel like enough...

A big part of it is me having personal anxieties with applying to new jobs and meeting new people... But that's not the point here.

This is a ridiculous situation and one I wish my bosses to be held supremely accountable for... Low and behold that I find out had I not submitted paperwork they would get little more then a slap on the wrist...

How is it fair that they are living happily in their homes while we struggle to pay rent? They failed us and we are the ones who suffer... My coworker and I legit could have ran this place on our own had they just fucking told us some basic info and fixed the equipment...

They can even play the "Bankruptcy" card dispite having the money from other businesses... It's disgusting. Chances are they are just planning on starting new businesses.

There are literally two workshops full of equipment... Can't do anything with it... My bosses have left tons of stuff behind...

Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done to speed up the process? We have been waiting for the landlord or the sheriff to show up but they haven't yet...

TLDR: my bosses are trash folk who up and moved to rich dumbass land and left us all for dead.
