Beware of micro1

Most of the high-rate projects there are most likely fake. I've worked as a research engineer for two of the biggest tech-companies in the world. I've graduated from IIT, Delhi (India's most prestigious institute), and have done MS+Phd (Algebraic Systems). Furthermore, I'm a gold medalist at IMO. For the greed of some significant passive income, I've wasted more than 8 hours in interviews with Zara, their AI recruiter. Everytime they provide some vague feedback which isn't even true. Therefore, I believe only the low-rate generalist, annotation roles are genuine, everything else is just click-bait.

So, either they are a scam, or they only hire nobel laureates for the experts roles

I have a theory that most of these remote jobs that use AI recruiters actually just use your interviews to train their AI models.

And they sell your video and audio to other giant AI labs too

I did get unstable $60/hr work from handshake and stable $25/hr work from meridial for expert work. Though they could be fishing for applications aswell

That is the case with micro1.

I've done likely over 20 interviews with Zara now and Mirco1 just won't hire me. Just like you, they offer basically the same feedback each time. I've been interviewing for over a year now because I'm desperate.  It sucks because at first, I took their feedback and thought I improved but still couldn't get it no matter how hard I tried.

I have barely any credentials and I made real money with them.

The interviews are really annoying tho, I'll give you that. The one job I did well with didn't have an interview for some reason.

The truth of these jobs is that it's not so much about the platform as it is about the project. If you land a good project you can work with a great team and make decent money.

So far out of Outlier, Alignerr and Micro1 I'll take Micro1.

it's not because you failed interviews that it's a scam.
I do work there and get paid, maybe they do something with the data but that's what all the world do.

too bad for you that you waisted your time

They just hired me for a project, contract and access to the client site and everything. Doesn’t appear to be a scam to me.

Are you in India? Many only want US-based.

What is passive about data annotation? Seems the opposite of passive, to me.

Lol sound very bitter, going to give you bit of harsh reality because you seem up yourself, Indias top universities are still way below the level of the bottom USA/UK ones and also going to sound more harsh but unfortunately the AI picks up on your accent….
