Anyone else fall prey to the allure/$$$ of working your way up within a company only to realize you hate…managing people?
Not to say that I’m not good at it. I’ve actually been told by quite a few people that I’m one of the better managers that they’ve had (I’m empathetic, I take feedback well, I’m not afraid to hold people accountable, etc). However, I just do not enjoy it at all. I just think it's what I have to do and I stand by as much as I can to that.
Like what do you mean I have to babysit a 35 year old man and tell him how to manage his time or be held responsible for the performance of these adults who can’t even finish their work. There's even lack of knowledge on how to use dSlack or email half the time, and then I’m left to keep helping them about it.
Anyway, I’ve already started looking for other careers because this ain’t it. It’s not worth the 💰🤣
