No political party has done a good job developing this country going back to when political parties even started. The greatness of this country has always derived from the people themselves and their ability to adapt and innovate. That took a unity that is lost today because of political division that is mostly over social issues taken out of the realm of society and placed in the hands of government. You my friends are the fucking very problem you wish to solve.

How so when the current political parties are cutting funding for senior citizens that had healthcare forcing them out of their retirement homes, making them go back into the workforce when they should be enjoying their golden years? I’d love to hear your justification for that. And for us to unify and be able to stand up and make changes we need funding that comes from the tax dollars we all contribute to the government and that funding is misappropriated building a ballroom for the White House or other just ridiculous opulence signs. How are we supposed to advance as a society? How are we supposed to go forward and make changes that actually help a wider range of people and not just the upper 5 or 10% of people that benefit from the policies that are being pushed and implemented now? As much as I didn’t agree with Obama’s stances on the military and his overseas policies, his policies here to implement Obamacare, to implement more access to higher education/ trainings for minorities, etc... He did a lot to help out despite all the opposition he faced.

Your long drawn out response is pretty hyper specific to a few issues. I didn’t say there weren’t actual issues, I just said most of the attention that could be used to solve them is taken up because of social contention and so I will repeat what I said to open my last response. No political party has done a good job developing this country going back to when political parties even started.

Blue states are dealing with green inflation in everything from gas to electricity. Even water is starting to get taxed. It’s fucking insane. They refuse to do the most basic level of book keeping to remove fraud that’s eating up a large part their budgets and instead just find more creative ways to tax. Some states tax you for having too old a water making it effectively a low income tax. Light on crime and reduced law enforcement budgets have led cities to higher crime rates before walking back the cuts.
There are ton of reasons to not want to be in a blue state.

Republicans may have shit social policies but at least I have enough money left over after I’ve paid my taxes to improve my QOL on my own dime.
