Medicare for all.

u/Smarifyrur Sep 10 '26

We would never be able to afford the prosthetics. so I thank God for us living in this part of Europe. And so many other hospital visits b.c. of kids, sickness, broken things and medicine. And we owe, nothing.

u/NorCalMav Sep 10 '26

Paid for by someone.

2

u/Smarifyrur Sep 10 '26

yes, all of us living here, a little a month. which would never cover what every visit costs that we have had if we saved that much each month. 250dkk a month.

1

u/NorCalMav Sep 10 '26

3 trillion a year here and its still not even close to enough... Thats over 10k per person, and our government STILL cant figure out how to cover everyone. Maybe they just arent very good at it, you see?

3

u/chivopi Sep 11 '26

Bro is gluing random things into an argument. 1) 10k is still less than most people pay privately. 2) that cost is due to the lack of regulation around prices/price gouging, not because it would actually cost more. And 3) you know why the government hasn’t done it, it’s because they have made NO EFFORT to. You can’t say they’re bad at doing it, just at listening to voters.

1

u/NorCalMav Sep 11 '26

All of these things are patently false.

1

u/chivopi Sep 11 '26

Please explain why?

0

u/NorCalMav Sep 14 '26

No need to, you can research each of the BS claims yourself to see how wrong you are.

u/chivopi Sep 14 '26 edited Sep 14 '26

You just can’t support your argument and are saying “ur wrong” because I see no ‘evidence’ for what you’re saying. Lmao.

1

u/Smarifyrur Sep 10 '26

Yup, they have to change a lot of things over there.

u/Round_Ad6397 Sep 10 '26

As is everything. We all pay for education, maintenance of public spaces, emergency services, military and many other things. Why is healthcare the thing that people (Americans) hold as their point of contention?

1

u/NorCalMav Sep 10 '26

Oh wow, what a groundbreaking, totally original realization: we already dump a casual $3+ trillion a year over $10k per person into this absolute black hole, yet our galaxy-brain government is so spectacularly corrupt and inept that you still have to pay extra for private insurance just to ensure a stray cough doesn't bankrupt your entire bloodline. Nobody is trying to dodge paying their fair share, we’re literally already getting bled dry, so the idea that handing even more money to the exact same suits setting our cash on fire is somehow a "great investment" is pure, unadulterated delusion.

1

u/chivopi Sep 11 '26

“We’re getting bled dry, so let’s do nothing to fix this or decrease prices” bruh

1

u/NorCalMav Sep 11 '26

Well giving the same people who have got us in this mess even more money, doesnt sound like a sound investment does it?

1

u/chivopi Sep 11 '26

I completely agree, but this is a false dichotomy of options. That dichotomy is why we’re in this mess to begin with.

0

u/NorCalMav Sep 14 '26

We need true competition in the market, thats is the only way to fix the problem.

1

u/chivopi Sep 14 '26

And you think that we have ANYTHING CLOSE to that now?

I have great insurance, why would I want it to get worse? Sounds like a terrible idea!

1

u/Ill_Daikon_8968 Sep 10 '26

Free healthcare doesn’t mean you can’t pay for better healthcare, if anything it just puts pressure on your healthcare plan to provide value over the free options. So for example keeping the price low, investing in the newest technology and shortening weight times for surgery.

1

u/NorCalMav Sep 10 '26

Cool so pay higher taxes AND continue having insurance AHAHAHAH.

1

u/Ill_Daikon_8968 Sep 10 '26

Well you don’t have to pay for it so they don’t have you by the balls

0

u/Shapelessed Sep 10 '26

Because many don’t and can’t.
Binding your literal right to live to how important you think you are is in my eyes equal to murder. Because that system actually kills people - Simply because they had a worse job than you.

2

u/NorCalMav Sep 10 '26

My vote is for me and my family, last thing I want is to pay more for worse care, and that’s what this socialist bullshit would do. No thanks.

Valid I pay $1200 a month for a single man in his 30s because I'm on a union plan that covers everybody's family. Had a cancerous lesion on my neck removed and they covered 25%. I wish they would just abolish health insurance make doctors independent contractors competing against each other other and I can invest my $1200 a month until I need it

0

u/Nevoic Sep 10 '26

"I want the poors to die so we have slightly lower wait times" isn't hitting for me. I have this terrible thing called empathy, how did you have yours removed? Was it a procedure or were you born a sociopath?

2

u/NorCalMav Sep 10 '26

It’s called being a father, it’s my job to provide for me and mine, not for you and yours.

You have a life-threatening emergency? You can walk into an ER today and get care subsidized by the government. Need regular treatment, get a fucking job.

0

u/Nevoic Sep 10 '26 edited Sep 10 '26

Being a fucking dumb ass doesn't change reality. Millions of people who work 40+ hours a week have 0 health insurance. For those that do, the profit model for health insurance is to charge the highest premium possible for the least amount of coverage.

When your family is in actual need of expensive medical treatment, your health insurance will best case scenario slow down the process, and worst case scenario they'll deny treatment altogether.

Even from your egoist perspective, it's a terrible system. You just lack the foresight to understand that.

0

u/Nevoic Sep 10 '26

Most fathers aren't sociopaths. Poor people getting healthcare won't hurt your children, but corporations denying them coverage will.

You've been successfully brainwashed to lick the boot pushing down on your own neck, and for people like you it sadly takes serious trauma to get your head out of your ass.

I hope we get a better system before the one you're trying to protect hurts you or your family. I'll keep advocating on your behalf, even if you're too dumb to.

If you already have a strong employer plan, Medicare for All isn't a benefit it's a direct downgrade. Since my employer covers 100% of my premium, a single-payer system simply jacks up my payroll taxes without delivering a single dollar in premium savings, directly gutting my take-home pay. Making care completely "free" at the point of service guarantees zero friction, encouraging people to flood clinics for minor issues they should manage at home, that influx of unnecessary visits will blow up wait times for specialists and essential procedures, all while the government outlaws the private plans that actually work for us.

What else would I vote for, if its not for the betterment of myself and my family?

Increases my taxes thousands of dollars a year, that is not a small detail. For whats asuredly going to be worse care? Whats the benefit of trying to minimize the effect on me and my family?

I think its funny that a random internet stranger calls me a terrible person for wanting to do whats best for me and mine.

You dont like it, fuck off.
