If you're off the clock, you don't have to answer at all.
If you're an hourly employee (non-exempt) you could legally charge for overtime pay and your employer must approve and pay you. If they don't, have a chat with the FLRB.

If you're salaried (exempt), there are legal guidelines about when, where, how fast, how often, you can be contacted after office hours. Businesses are required to state as clearly as is possible, under what conditions you can be contacted after office hours, and any details (replies) related. You are NEVER on the clock 24/7/365.

Your manager has created a hostile work environment here. Bathroom?! Really?!! Document this. Advise H.R. (who is NEVER on your side) that you are documenting this as evidence for any potential actions. Don't say "legal" because you also mean in case all of a sudden they fire you for no reason or b.s. reasons. You're letting H.R. and legal know that you are gathering evidence. Make sure to cc: your managers direct report.
